These provisions include Staff may open the medicine container if the resident lacks the ability to open the container, resident may be reminded to take his/her medication, and the medication regimen may be read to the resident. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as service plan must be revised when a resident’s condition or preferences change, The service plan must include the scope of services that will be provided to meet the resident’s needs, assessment of the resident’s needs and preferences, and pre-admission appraisal. Staff members receive training in a variety of fields. These areas include supervisory/management techniques, training in resident care services, residents’ rights, and procedures for and legal requirements concerning the reporting of abuse and critical incidents. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include activities, 24 hour supervision and assistance, health related services to maximize the resident’s autonomy , and assisted living services.
