It's better than them being at home by themselves. They offer med management. This location has 2 floors. They allow pets. They offer arts and crafts, bingo, game nights and movie nights as far as activities to name a few. They offer transportation to their doctors on certain days. They take the residents to shop of go out to eat. The staff call or email regarding any concerns with my loved one. They work to solve any issues we have. They also have mass and bible classes once a week. They also provide exercise programs. Very caring people work there.... Read more

Nothing to say
If I had to do it over again, I would not choose this entity. They are understaffed, and they can't really provide up-to par services on a daily basis.

I would recommend Laketown Village to those who are looking. it's a clean facility, and they'll take care of your loved one in a very friendly atmosphere.

March 3, 2022Thank you for your positive feedback about our community!
the staffing retention at this community was one of their biggest issues. cleanliness was also an issue as well. i do believe they tried their best with the residents who were mobile; but i found that they could not handle my loved ones level of care, despite their claims that they could. if you or your loved one is looking for an assisted living apartment at this community, it may be a good place. if you or your loved one needs memory care or advanced levels of care, i would not recommend based on my experience.

Laketown Village is reasonably priced and you get everything and more than a higher priced community. The food is enjoyed by my loved one, who can order off a menu if they want. Bingo, cards, watching sports, exercise classes, and more are some of the activities available for the residents.

February 8, 2022Christina, thank you for your kind feedback about our pricing, activities, and dining options. As a community focused on providing a healthy, convenient, and fulfilling lifestyle that enhances the residents' well-being, we appreciate your words! Please let us know if we can do anything else for you or your loved one.
During our tour everyone was very friendly and the place itself was nice. We decided against this facility just because they only offer 2 meals a day and it is breakfast and lunch. My friend is not always up for breakfast so that would not have worked. In my opinion it would work better if it was lunch and dinner provided for the 2 meals.

Please let us know if you have any other details you'd like to provide so we can continuously offer the best option for seniors looking for assisted living or memory care in the Kenner area.
This was definitely the nicest facility that we toured, but it was that much more expensive. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

First of all, we looked at several different places, and Laketown Village was by far the most professional in terms of the interaction and the welcoming process. Beyond that, they're located in New Orleans, and I have to compliment them on their storm evacuation process. They did a great job and took my loved one to a place where she actually liked even more. Reading the stories of what other families had to deal with, we had no worries. We were communicated with constantly. The residents were safe getting to and from the different locations. And it was professionally handled all the way through. The staff at Laketown Village are very attentive and often anticipate your needs, which is unusual. I live out of state, and there are a lot of things I can't do for my loved one on a daily basis. They take great care of her and will sometimes even come in on their off days to do things for her. One of the staff, [name removed], says he tries to treat everyone like they're his mom or dad, and I love that approach. Overall the food is good, no real issues. My loved one has a favorite cook, and if that person isn't cooking she's less happy with the food. But we've been very happy with Laketown Village overall.

October 6, 2021Sandra, thank you very much for your kind words about our community. It is an honor to serve the seniors who call Laketown Village home - we truly feel grateful and humbled caring for them every day. Providing constant communication to our families and being pro-active in our protocols when it comes to unprecedented events such as Ida are important to us as a senior living community to uphold and maintain. We appreciate your acknowledgement of our services and love having you as part of our Laketown Village family. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you and your loved one!
They are informative. They do a pre-interview where they sit down and check out the patient and establish a care level prior to moving in. They're readily available when you call them. The staff are very good. If there's something I need to know, they'll call ahead. I like how they're trying to work with my loved one. They have her doing occupational and physical therapy. It's a very clean facility, and the rooms are spacious.
The care services have gotten a lot better and the activities are slowly starting to come back they now have live entertainments. We do think the value for cost is good and we would recommend the community to others.
Our loved one started out in assisted living which was awful, and now our loved one is in memory care. The care services on the memory care side are a five out of five, but for assisted living they would be a one out of five. From our understanding the memory care does a better job with activities then assisted living, however we are just not able to go in and see exactly what is going on. We do believe the manager on the memory care side is doing her absolutely best, and doing a wonderful job.
I am very picky and don't just hand out 5 Star Reviews, especially when it comes to my Father's care. He has lived at 3 other "Assisted" Living facilities over the last 4 years and we have moved him several times due to the lack of care at the other places. I can not put into words adequately how happy we are that he is now at Laketown Village, EVERYONE there is so friendly and helpful and obviously loves what they do. The staff takes care of EVERY detail for their Residents. I can not say enough good things about this facility and everyone who works there, from Housekeeping, Marketing, Maintenance, Personal care attendants to the Chef and waitstaff. They are AWESOME and I have such a sense of Peace since Dad moved there knowing the wonderful care he is receiving. I have never felt this way about any of the other facilities and the feeling is Priceless.
The entrance to this facility was warm, welcoming and friendly. The receptionist was cheery, and immediately welcomed us and informed [name removed] we had arrived, then offered coffee, danish, water, etc. and seating. Shortly afterwards, [Name removed] greeted us and shared she was completing a tour with another family and would be with us shortly. She sat and listened to our expectations then shared facility offerings and tour including upgrades and room renovations. Amenities were abundant which we appreciated.
I really liked this place. However, I dont think this would be in our budget unless they would take Medicare.
When I first toured Brookdale, it felt more like a resort than a nursing facility. My father was a resident at Brookdale Kenner for his final months. I can't express how happy I was with the facility. The staff was very friendly, attentive and caring. We had always tried to avoid putting him into a nursing home, but once we found Brookdale, I wish we had done it sooner. I compared several facilities, and found Brookdale to be the best one for pricing (better than the other choices), safety, security, care, meals, activities and attention. Brookdale offered activities like crafts, games, exercise, live music, enclosed gardens and a covered patio for the memory care patients. The meals were excellent with a good variety to suit my father's appetite. Brookdale will always be in my heart for giving my father (and me) the best final months of his life.
Very nice place close to the casino which I'm sure would be a big perk!
This facility has been better than I expected. The director here is very nice and understanding. She has been helpful and is excellent in communicating with me. The building itself is beautiful and very clean. There is also no odor that you expect from places like this. Overall this is a good experience and the staff has been wonderful. For activities they offer things like bingo, watching TV, live entertainment, and mass services. I would absolutely recommend this facility to other families.
I love this place for my mother, she is in the memory care part of the community and the caregivers are great and responsive to mom's needs. They have lots of activities like cards, arts and crafts. The courtyard is small but nice. They have wonderful food and she feels safe here.
