The types of service offered often involve help with the activities of daily life. Occupants may be kept under supervision and assessment. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every residents. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 3. The maximum occupancy is 1 residents per room. Public assistance is available through A Medicaid 1915(c) waiver called the Supported Living Program and a 1915(b) waiver called the Managed Long-Term Services and Supports program. Staff members receive education in a number of fields. These areas include internal policies, neglect prevention, residents’ need and service plans, and disaster procedures. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include medication reminders, supervision of self-administered medications, and reading the medication label to residents.
