I give this facility an above fair rating. It was a nice facility with great staff but not quite what we are looking for. We are looking for assisted living with as much homey feel as possible. The rooms are smaller here and the facility felt more like a nursing home than an apartment facility.
It was a little expensive, but we felt it was worth it. We really like the way they took care of our loved and protected her, we loved everybody there and when she was on hospice they did an incredible job.
I wasn't impressed with the community. I would recommend finding a different place for your loved one. Due to the pandemic I feel the lock down of the residents was extreme. They wouldn't allow residents to walk the halls. The staff was ok, and the reception area wasn't always manned. We made three trips during move-in and there was no staff, we were able to go right in. The food was unrecognizable. The food quality, and taste weren't good. The housekeeping that was included for once a week wasn't good. There was still dust on the shelves, and the carpet didn't look like it had been cleaned after housekeeping had been there.
Before covid it was great, after covid it was frustrating but that was not Brookdale's fault. The staff was great and always knew my name. The room sizes are good, and mom like the food and offered a good variety. I would recommend this facility to others.
the community is very nice, they told us they would give us a notice and help us to plan for the next stage, They did not help after a hospital visit and we had to move my friend into a different facility. The therapy group was amazing, they were a third party and was very responsive. I would recommend this community if it fits your loved one's needs.
Some of the staff were quite good and caring, especially the folks at the front desk, people running activities, etc. However, there were serious problems with with management, which came out in different was during the 18 months my father lived there. Hygine My father's room always stank of urine, to the point where it was difficult to enter the room. We paid to have the carpet removed and replaced with vinyl flooring, yet the problem persisted. We raised it repeatedly with staff. Some of this, I know, can't be helped, but it was extreme. Communication Brookdale never once notified me when my father went in to the hospital. He was hospitalized about every 2 to 3 months during his time there, and I only found out from friends and family, never from Brookdale. I raised this repeatedly at meetings with Brookdale, received reassurance that it wouldn't be a problem in the future, and then it would happen again. I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to my father because I didn't make it to the hospital in time before he died. This might have been different if Brookdale had better communication. I raised this issue with management, who said they would look in to it, and never got back to me. In fact, the manager of the facility didn't even offer condolences when we came to clear out my father's room; she just walked by us as if she didn't see us, on several occasions. Billing Brookdale never sent me copies of my father's monthly bills, even though I had power of attorney, was managing his finances, and requested the bills in writing on several occasions. Brookdale has not refunded me for the rent paid in advance that they owe me after my father's death, even though he died 3 months ago. I have asked about this repeatedly, received reassurances, but no refund. I find this behaviour on the part of management to be negligent.
My uncle (in his mid 90s) has resided at Brookdale for the past year. Unable to live on his own, he requires "extra" help with activities of daily living (ADLs) which are not generally available in other assisted living facilities. Even with his loss of independence, he is quite content at Brookdale, as the staff there is professional, kind, engaging, and respectful. The facility has a bright and cheerful ambiance, is exceptionally well maintained, and has conveniences such as therapy availability, a beauty-barber shop, and skilled-care nurses onsite. My uncle, a very picky eater, enjoys the food and the array of menu choices. But perhaps the most outstanding feature is the Brookdale staff. During the past 12 months I have met nurses, aides, members of management, dietician and food service employees, who are extraordinary people--never too busy to answer questions, provide information and help, and who reflect the utmost competence and excellence. A special shout-out to [name removed], the receptionist who is an absolute delight, and [names removed], the maintenance staff who, I'm convinced, can do anything! In my opinion, Brookdale is the very best assisted living facility in this area.
I had a great experience with [name removed] during the tour and lunch. She asked a lot of questions about me and I also asked a lot of questions. I’m planning on going again with my brother in law to get his opinion. Thanks so much for everything you do.
Brookdale is a beautiful place for my mom. She is very happy and comfortable. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. They are very welcoming when friends and family come in to visit. The staff is very friendly and take good care of her. They respond quickly if she needs any help. We wish the food was better, we are not alone with this thought. Most of the residents send the food back. and the food was a selling point when we toured this community. Management said they were looking into the matter. There are a lot of activities provided that my mom participates in, she really enjoys the exercise classes. They have nice front patios with rockers and chairs to enjoy the outdoors and socialize. She recently went with a group of resident out to dine at the Cracker Barrel. She seems very content and happy. I would recommend this community to friends and family.
We toured this community and like the staff who were friendly and caring. The community was clean and offers a nice variety of healthy meals. The activities seemed to be helpful for the residents who are able to participate. We would recommend that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.
My loved one has recently made the move into this community and I am very impressed with how things are going for her so far. I would highly defiantly recommend it to anyone interested. The staff are all absolutely outstanding to work with and I could not ask for better care provided to her. My mom is very happy with the meals and enjoys participating in all of the great activities with the other residents. Overall I am very happy with our choice to move her in this place it has worked out beautifully.
I have no complaints about the tour I had taken of this community for my mother. The staff where on time to our appointment and did a nice job presenting the facility to us. I did not feel pressured and thought they where very polite. They had a nice floor plan with a lot of great amenities available to all of the residents. It was just not the right fit in the end decision.
We did talk to someone at this community over the phone. The person was nice and knowledgable. We would have considered looking at this community if they accepted medicaid.
My mom was here once before and she didn't like it there. The community is under new owners but we didn't want to push her to go back to a place she didn't like.
The food at this community seems to be good. The staff are more than attentive and check on mom often. They offer daily activities including puzzles. They offer a locked down memory care unit. The community is clean. Mom is content, happy and has made some friends. This is a nicely priced community and I would recommend it.
This community was under construction at the time. We did not like that there were not enough staff members for the care of everyone. The community seemed to be clean and maintained. We would recommend that others see this community for the decision for the care of a family member.
My loved one is happy with everything at the Brookdale. We have no complaints about the place. The food is very good and she is taking part in some activities. The place is conveniently close to her friends as well, so they could visit her often. [Removed], the lady that I met with originally, said that my loved one always has a smile on her face.
Staff that gave tour very nice. Facility is older and definitely needs some TLC. They are starting a large renovation/update. One area/hallway of the facility where my mom would have had a room smelled strongly of urine. It may look very different(and hopefully smell too) in the next year but we were not wiling to take that chance.
Mom is doing great. She is getting use to the community, it takes time to meet people. The community is kept clean a really nice place. The staff are very good and professional. My mom is not crazy about the meals but it is suitable. To help the meals, the residents get together to have a meeting. Activities are also provided and it's really good. I choose them for the location and friendly staff. She knew someone here and it gave her reassurance. She likes being here.
The staff are well trained, they answer our questions and are accommodating. The staff are patient with mom. They do offer a lot of activities. The food is good and the community is kept clean. They provide a wider variety of services than the community she was at previously. I would recommend this community.
