I liked the look, smell and feel of it. We had a very good experience with Ashford. Except for one very bad experience. I would use them again.

They are very caring for their patients. They do a good job of checking on them and looking out for them. The administration is top. Meals seemed to be bland and seems cafeteria style.

Security was not what I was looking for. Storage in apt was great. Full kitchen. B-fast and dinner buffet. Lunch on resident. Outside area not mowed, felt overgrown. Dining area first rate. Room doors dusty from remodeling. Nice library plus book mobile.Narrow hallways. Residents were just sitting in common area(inactive & quiet). Felt like we were rushed. 2 story

The place was pretty dark and didn't give me that warm inviting feeling I had at the facility I used to work for or the other places I had toured. It seemed clean, however. And I was incredibly impressed by how friendly the management team was and how well they interacted with the residents. That is definitely something you don't see at many places.

We don't love it, but it's close, and it's not as bad as some. The first month was really difficult to get them to work with us. There were some miscommunications about pricing for laundry, what consists of a load, and how often they do it, with a ten dollar charge for an additional "load" above the two a week they do. We have had to get after people to keep up on linen changes. Most of the aides are terrible, their personalities are just terrible. Some of them just seem miserable, most of them won't even look at you. There are a couple that are just wonderful, we need to clone those ones. We chose them because of location, and the fact that after a couple of years they will switch to medicare. They have a little tiny workout area with 3 stationary bikes, but they don't seem very accessible for the elderly. They have an exercise program, and my dad says it's too easy. I just think they could do better.

My aunt was 91 & fell in her own apartment, broke her leg & couldn’t go back to her own apartment. I found The Ashford to take my aunt & her cat. Management from the Ashford felt like they could give my aunt the care she needed, even though she could not walk yet. I moved her to the Ashford on [date removed] & I thought it was going to be a good fit. It wasn’t. The communication is not real positive for somebody that can’t get up, walk & had 1 bed sore that continued to get worse, including get infected. I must say that if you are truly assisted living, this may be a great place for you; however not so much if you need more care & can’t get up to move around. I believe it was a perfect storm of miscommunication or no communication, Not really knowing what was going on with the care & the fact that my aunt couldn’t get up to help air out the bed sores ?? I'm conflicted, my aunt passed away [date removed]. I pray this is an exception. Serenity hospice was called in & were amazing.

I would never never never recommend this place The place looks clean but when I went to clean something off the floor the paper towel was black. So looking clean and being clean are too different things. On multiple occasions I found my husband saturated in urine. Multiple used diapers in the floor and toilet backed up. Even when providing medicine instructions to the head nurses u found they were making many mistakes with his medications. Head nurse pharmacy and working nurse had very poor communication. Also meds are given with a minimal amount of water. Most meds need to be taken with a full glass of water. My They are very understaffed especially in the weekend. No one takes responsibility for a situation from director down. Aides are not trained properly. Poor upper management. Management does not have respect of staff. Meals are not calorie rich. My husband lost about 20 pounds there. Similar complaint from other relatives. When I interviewed with them it was yes we will do that and this.... did not happen. Totally not true. My husband went in healthy for respite care came out in a wheel chair and very weak. One aide said he was failing quickly. This should never have happened. His cell phone was stolen. Told the director head nurse and front desk. When I asked about it each time they acted like it was the first time they were hearing my complaint. Someone took his depend ups I provided. I provided [name removed] and the bed wound be made over a doomed chuck. My husband was there since I was selling our old home, buying a new home, packing and moving our new residence. He was there 8 weeks. I have pictures.

First off they mislead you with the all-inclusive price. They expect you to buy a lot of stuff one would think is included like toilet paper. They have no social worker and the business manager who kind of implieso they do the social worker job before you sign, is horribly rude and does nothing.Everyone there passes the buck blaming it on others and no one stays up to correct anything.

DO NOT take anything of value to the facility. They said they would take care of my mom's hearing aids, put them in on the morning, take them out in the evening and lock them up overnight. They took them, but it was hit or miss about them putting them in and after mom passed I went to get them and they had lost them. So now we're out thousand of dollars for them. It was very frustrating. It is very hard to get a hold of someone in the evenings, so don't try to call after 6, it's pointless. The staff changes constantly, where I think with memory care it should be consistent. I had to tell the one nurse to call hospice at the end and she said oh, You think we should? Well yes, my mom died that night so thank God I stayed on her to call. It was just very disappointing... constant change in management, listening to the employees [word removed] about the place was extremely unprofessional.

The rooms were nice and decent size. The director, charge nurse and other management stayed in their offices never holding workers accountable or hiring and training enough staff.. my loved one waited over an hour multiple times to use the bathroom.. in both of my loved ones falls they did not want to transport them to the hospital. I would not recommend unless you are completely self sufficient.

The main reason we went here in the first place was because of certain staff who we really liked but they have all left and it is chaos. Because they are short staffed, things are not being done as they should be. They have never been fully staffed since she moved in. We are constantly having to do things that they say they would be doing. One of the main reasons we moved her here was because of the activities and they don't have any going on because they cannot find an activities director. They are raising the prices 8% and we are not getting even close to what we are paying for now. They cannot even handle the people that they have so I would definitely not recommend the facility to others looking for their loved ones. We have been extremely disappointed.

For as much as they charge per month, they really need to freshen up the place. Dark dingy halls, scuffed woodwork, frayed carpet and the apartments don’t have much sunlight.

Staff were friendly, lunch was good. But the facility looked dingy. Not sure how you can make hallways in a facility like this not look like a nursing home, but looking down the halls was very much like looking at a nursing home.

My parents are doing good here for the most part. My main concern with this community is that they are under staffed. I do not feel the residents are able to get the proper care, because they are so under staff. They need to hire more care givers. So all the residents get the best care and equal attention.

My mom was there from the end of June 2023 until the end of August 2023. Cleanliness was not great. Her apartment was not deep cleaned before she moved in. Crude on the counters and floor. Room had a musty odor. Most of the staff were friendly especially before she moved in. They were supposed to get her for meals but for at least the first few days no one checked on her at all. And it was very intermittent after that. She did not enjoy the food at all. On at least 2 occasions that I know of she had fallen off the couch and laid on the floor for hours. I installed a camera in order to look in on her. Saw her laying on the floor and attempted to get a hold of someone at the facility. It was 1 am, none of the phone numbers that I'd been given worked. I ended up driving over and there was only one person working. I told her what was going on. Went up to her room and she called for assistance. My son, who lives nearby walked over and came in at the same time that 2 other employees. He said they had driven up as he was walking up. They smelled like straight weed. There was a resident with dementia that walked into her room repeatedly and stole small items from her. One time he hit her with her TV remote. They were supposed to have a podiatrist visit once every very weeks. He saw her once, she had an open sore on her toe that wasn't healing (diabetic). The very next week I received a call from the NP that's there saying that her toe looked really bad. I had made an appointment for her with her primary care doctor. The NP said she thought she should go to the ER. My mom never went back to the facility. The damage was too great, even after amputation. Not one time in the 4 weeks that my mom wasn't there did anybody call and check on my mom. Terrible experience all around. I would not recommend this facility for anyone.

The areas they could improve on would be communication between the staff members and the supervisors. That would be a good start. They also do not take in patients that are going to need extensive care. They clearly are a facility that is not equipped for this.

Right now, if I could move my parent out I would! It used to be a nice place, but has gone downhill just within a year. There is high turnover with Mgmt and staff. My parent has lived there [time frame removed] & I don't think they have ever been properly staffed to give the care that you are paying for. For as much as I have to do when I get there each day I should be on the pay roll!! They provide laundry services, but I do the laundry because that is what my parent likes. The thing is, I need to do laundry EVERY day because she has soiled herself and I know she has had to sit in it for a while because it soaked through her Depends through to whatever she was sitting on at the time. There used to be activities all the time, now I don't think they have a Activities Director. If they do, they don't much! I have been very patient with this place, but I am getting to my limit! I think they should replace Mgmt with experienced, compassionate and knowledgeable people then do they same w/staff!
