Here at Villa Fontana Retirement we understand the importance of family. In fact this senior living facility is family owned, so they go from one family to another. Our property is recently remodeled and a beautiful place to live right here in San Jose, CA. We have been in business for 20 years now and we enjoy caring for those who need help caring for themselves. As an assisted living facility we have meals provided for our resident three times a day and a staff that works hard to keep our residents safe and healthy. Most of our units are larger than other assisted living facilities and we have a variety of apartment types in different styles and sizes to suit your loved one specifically. It can be hard to let go and admit that your loved one needs more care than they can give themselves or that you are able to give them. Admitting this is the first step to getting your loved one the help that they need to live independently when possible and have assistance when they need it. Rest assured that at Villa Fontana Retirement we are a family, so if your loved one comes here they will be gaining another family, not losing one.

  • Toured with [name removed]. She was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The facility was nice and I would want to live there. They even have a beauty parlor and ice cream bar room that they serve ice cream once a week. They have a ballroom and have events. There are many things this facility has that are wonderful. I would definitely look at it. When you compare it to other places it just has so much more and the decor is nice too.

  • Do not bring your loved one here

My husband initially lived on the assisted living side with a caregiver because there were no rooms available in the memory care unit. The assisted living side was very nice and he was well taken care of. However, they moved him to memory care, his caregiver left on a Friday, and the very next day he fell and broke his hip. The facility told me that he never fell, though, and that when they woke him up the next day, his hip was broken. He’s fallen at home before and had to have help getting back up. There is no way he fell, broke his hip, and then got up on his own to get back in bed. We asked the facility staff 3 separate times what happened and they swore he never fell. I don’t know if someone in the staff is trying to cover up the fact that they did this to him but I can’t bring him back. A friend of mine whose husband lives there was complaining that he was being beaten. He took his shirt off one day and there were bruises and marks all over him. A lot of the other residents are so medicated, they droop over in their chairs. Those residents seem to be the perfect ones because they don’t talk back and they don’t make a fuss. We’ve filed a police report about all of this. I do not recommend bringing your loved one here.

  • When Touring The Place

They were a good community and in the mater of trying to fit into what was being offered and finding a good fit for brother was a new experience to me. On the tour they were pretty much professional and friendly. I went through the whole community. It was helpful to have a list of communities to visit from A Place For Mom. This was not the right fit.
