Highly recommend for memory care. Friendly staff that truest care. There are activities for the residents that even include family events - Easter egg hunts, Halloween, etc. Location and costs were of course a factor. Having experience with them now, I wouldn't hesitate to use them.

Great facility and staff
I would definitely recommend them. I think our only issues come from us as much as from them. What I mean by that is, I had a couple of issues with my mom not taking her medicine. I had asked them to remind her or to check on if she was taking it. But I think I need to just ask them to administer it the next time and that way she won't miss doses. I need to communicate her needs and our wishes more effectively. I also need to take more things from home for her so she feels more at home (like her recliner). They didn't have a comfortable chair for her to sit in to watch tv. And I also need to set up a more specific activity plan and meal routine for her because she didn't want to impose on them and then wouldn't ask for what she needed or wanted. But again, that's more on us. The only complaint I think I heard my mom say was that if she requested food in her room it was usually cold when she got it. And sometimes it took them a while to get to her when she called. But those are things I think to be expected because they can't drop everything when she calls. They have others they are attending to as well. I will say that the staff are super nice. I think they would be a 5 in all areas if they had more staff to cover everything. I think those that are there are doing the best they can. My mom will most likely be going there again. I fully expect or at least hope that her next visit will go better because she now knows what to expect and hopefully will speak up more for herself and do more things with her friends. I think what is hard for my mom is that she is in a wheelchair and is more dependent and that's why she didn't want to always ask them to take her here or there. But I told her, that's what they're there for.

Nice and reasonable facility
My mother is a resident at Village at Keizer Ridge. The move in process was a bit rough. There was no tour or orientation for my mother. However, overall I would recommend the facility to others.

Our families experience
[name removed] was there 6 days and then went to the hospital and never returned. The Village was as good as they could be under the circumstances. In my opinion [name removed]should not have been accepted into assisted living. I will say with the challenges we faced with [name removed]they helped the best they were able. I put N/A on 6 because he never was able to be involved with activities to my knowledge.

Mom is happy, a great fit for her needs.
Their staff is probably the most friendly of any facility that my mother has been in. They always acknowledge her as we walk past them in the hallways. The facility is top quality and always kept exceedingly clean.

Craft Room
Its funny, I do all the crafts, I have been for 1 year and 6 months, I buy everything myself, I ask for a craft room, residents love to do crafts, I have asked more than I can say, I get told sounds good and then nothing, I store it all in my apartment ( which makes [name removed] mad, but i have pride in what I do and it makes residents really happy.

Money, Airplane Tickets, Timeshare Taken by Staff
A loved one moved to VKR in October of 2022 from Bonaventure after [name removed] (who had formerly worked at Bonaventure) convinced him to move. In November, the family discovered that [name removed] had accrued over $[removed] from him in the form of atm withdrawals (during COVID lockdown) and Zell transfers (over $[removed]). They also discovered payment for multiple plane tickets and use of his timeshare with [name removed] name as the guest (Florida, Palm Springs, and Hawaii). He was also on the family's phone plan where it was discovered that he and [name removed] would talk over an hour every day except weekends. Not only was this relationship inapproprite, but preying on an elderly person for money and gifts is unacceptable. After being reported to the state, [name removed] was suspended for only five days and allowed to come back to work at VKR after she returned $[removed] of his money. Upper staff was difficult for the family to work with, even with POA, refusing to give statements for tax purposes without the resident verbally okaying.

Caring, Safe and Comfortable Home
Our experience has been really good. There are no concerns about the care and safety, which is most important. The value is good although there is room to improve meals. The rest is whatever the resident makes of it individually. We picked this community because of the location, reputation, value, care, friendly staff and a beautiful property.

Tour experience
Keizer Ridge was a nice place also that I toured. Most all were compatible, it's just so sad and disappointing to see so few residents out and about in the common areas during the day, all the places seem so empty of activity, but maybe that's the norm. The more independent residents probably do more to get out and do activities

Beautiful facility, caring staff.
Very caring, people oriented staff. They do care about the residents and ensuring they are safe, comfortable and feel at home. They have built a true community with caring staff, outings and activities, special visitors and other events. There is a coffee shop and availability to get a some things from the cafe anytime and a menu of items during meals. They are currently helping me maneuver through some issues with hospice and have even been very helpful with that.

Great Place for Your Loved One
I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones, and to consider this community. The staff on the first day introduced themselves to my loved one in the dining room. I was impressed because they already knew that my loved one was new in the community. They made sure to keep checking on my loved one to the point my loved one felt they were checking on them too much. The family was shocked by the customer service the community provided, as it was outstanding. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and there are choices to choose from. The dining room is set up as a restaurant and the staff will come and take the order from the residents off a menu. Some of the activities include happy hour with entertainment, games, movies, arts and crafts and more for the residents to participate in. There is a calendar of activities for the residents to see what is available daily.

The Village at Keizer Ridge review
We do not have first hand experience with the meals and dining service but from what our loved one says - they are not gourmet but they are high quality and have a wide selection of options. They have had to navigate through the covid restrictions and different lockdowns so the activities have been pretty limited and the residents have not really had that opportunity to get involved with things. However they are starting to open back up so we are hoping the activities do to

Pleased with our experience
The main reason we went with The Village at Keizer Ridge was because of the overall appearance. We walked in and knew right away this was the place because it is not depressing at all, it looked like a nice hotel. Given with the amount of money it costs, I think it would be nice to have one specific staff member we could rely on who knows my loved one well. The facility is big and has a lot of residents and staff so it is not small or intimate. I would absolutely recommend them to others, especially for those who are more independent.

Peaceful Place to Live
My loved one's experience has been during the pandemic. I would tell others that if you have a senior who is very independent, they will do very well here. If your loved one needs more assistance, I would look for a smaller community.
