We toured with The Oaks at Bartlett and to u it seemed like a better facility for assisted living rather than memory care. The memory care area was very small, sad, and just looked depressing to us. That was the main reason we did not choose them.

August 2, 2023We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your tour of The Oaks at Bartlett. As a Life Plan community, we're proud to offer residents a combination of living options. Our memory care neighborhood offers residents furnished rooms with a private bathroom and beautiful views of the garden, wooded areas and the Carillon bell tower. While we're sorry to hear that we weren't the best fit for your loved one, we thank you for sharing your experience with us and we wish you all of the best in your search. If we can be of further assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out. Take care!
Our family had an in person tour with The Oaks at Bartlett and with the tour experience they just did not have the same welcoming or accommodating feel as other communities did.

Response from The Oaks at Bartlett, a CCRC
June 9, 2023Thank you for taking the time to share this lovely review. We believe our community is special, and we're proud of our culture that is fostered by residents and team members who support each other through meaningful relationships and engaging activities. It's truly an honor to know we're having a positive impact on your loved one's retirement experience.
Our tour at The Oaks at Bartlett was excellent. They were very thorough. For me, the key when looking for any long-term care facility - especially memory care - is a homey, comfortable environment, as opposed to an atmosphere that is hospital-like. I was disappointed with the memory care atmosphere at The Oaks - it was too hospital-like.

I moved in right before the pandemic. Dont know if I would have survived alone. We were well taken care of. Staff went out of their way to make a bad situation good. Love the pool, the food is great it was the best decision I ever made.
This is a very warm and comforting environment. The staff really take the time to address any issues. They will also go out of their way to make sure that the residents are living a quality life here.

Great community, very friendly people. Many activities Daily Mass Good variety of food nice pool very nice walking paths with turtles and birds.
I have lived at The Oaks with my husband for thirteen years. This was one of the best decisions we ever made. As we get older, we are supported by a service-oriented staff and a family of residents that we have come to know as friends. Even through the Covid experience, we were kept safe and secure in a caring atmosphere.

My dad had hip surgery and then when into Clare Oaks rehab. He had no infection when he entered their facility. Within two - three weeks he died. We learned from the ER doctor that he was severely dehydrated when brought in by an ambulance from their rehab center. He had a urinary tract infection which really turned out to be sepsis. He was in renal failure. He died within two/three days. We would speak to my dad on his cell phone daily. He told us he didn’t feel well so we would try to call the nursing staff. We had to ring and ring for at least a half hour before someone answered. Sometimes no one answered. We had to go through their security officer to get them to answer the phone! It was ridiculous. On Super Bowl Sunday we learned that he was in feces for up to eight hours. He pressed the nurse button. One nurse came in and said they would get help. They never returned. Please don’t send your love there unless you can watch them 24/7.

Clare Oaks is bankrupt. Clare Oaks lost a $4.1 million dollar lawsuit when a jury found that a resident's medications were mismanaged leading to negative health consequences. If you love your parent, do not put them in this facility. You will regret it forever.

My mother was in Clare Oaks two years in a row for falls and rehab. The facility is clean; personnel in every area are exceptional. Nurse [name removed] was exceptional, especially after my mother was discharged when I had to contact her numerous times for explanations. She was pleasant and caring. All other staff were very accommodating.

The care and services here are top notch; therapy exceeded expectations; good environment; clean. Would highly recommend to others. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. The variety of scheduled activity programs seem fine, but I did not participate by choice.
