tour review

Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was amazing, it is a beautiful community. We really liked all the activities and socialization they have to offer - we felt if our loved ones health was a little better she would of been able to experience more of what they had to offer. However the pricing scheme was a little discouraging it seemed like there were cases where you could be nickel and dimed. The staff members though were extremely friendly and helpful.

Tour of Sunrise

I toured Sunrise of Bluemont Park and it was very nice; we had a great experience and first impression. The community was a like a hotel with a happy hour bar and other fantastic things. Sunrise has a lot of great services and activities to offer, but my loved one would not have been able to take advantage of those things. We chose another community because Sunrise was not a good fit for us, and it also did not fit into our budget.

Grateful we stumbled upon this community.

I would say that this community is a really good place that I would highly recommend. For anyone that is looking for their parent to be in a safe environment that is well maintained and has a strong support team and good communication with family members.

Beautiful Place

This is a beautiful facility and they are good at what they do. The marketing people are great and then the people that take care of my parents have some difficulties. I just feel like there should be better communication between the marketing and the staff services. I would for sure recommend them and the services. This is a beautiful facility with big windows.

disappointing

My loved one had a fall while on the phone with me and it took 45 min before we could get her help. The ambulance responded before I could get ahold of the community. Communication is awful the dr on staff is argumentative and have left the front desk unattended and they were unreachable. I would not recommend this community to others

Satisfactory, but

Given the fees this community had, they should be providing slightly better service and care. Since March there hasn't been many activities but before COVID they had movie nights, exercises classes. They took trips to the grocery store and pharmacy as well as little outings. Our loved one hasn't had any complaints about the food. This community is quite nice, its clean and the furniture is perfectly fine and comfortable. Our loved ones room is nice and kept clean. The only issue we have with this community is they pay their staff nothing and so therefore they get very little out of it. the communication is so poor. The nursing capacity, is very sub par, however there are a couple staff members that are super and they do seem committed to the residents.

Bluemont Park The Potomac

The community overall was pretty clean. The staff was friendly for the most part. When the community first interviewed my mother, they misdiagnosed her need for assisted living rather than memory care, which was what she really needed. She moved in and couldn't remember where her room was so we had to hire an outside, full-time caregiver to assist her. We ended up needed to move her out of the community even though she was only there for a short time. They also did not give us our down payment back.

Not a bad community

ThIs has been a pretty good community so far. The food is good and they do keep the community clean. The only complaint I have is that this community has an older heating and air system and you are not able to run both at the same time. The staff have been friendly and helpful.

Pleasant atmosphere

My husband had to transfer into assisted living very quickly when he became paralyzed after a fall, so we had little time to find a place for him. Sunrise at Bluemont Park were the first people to call me after I had contacted [Removed] at a Place for Mom on the advice of a friend, and after visiting I decided on them. He has only been there about two months, but overall we are quite pleased with the services: the food is very good, and the care given by the aides. Most of our problems have been outside the purview of Sunrise (such as the procuring of a wheelchair which fits my husband), but we were disappointed not to be able to use the facility's transport to get him to medical appointments and have had to find other resources for that. I think we're still getting used to the place, but settling in quite well so far.

In general ok

[Removed] was very accessible and helpful during the sale/contracting process. The Bluemont nurse was able to travel to Maryland to interview the new resident and that was very helpful. It took a while to get everything lined up for move in , dealing with the forms and the insurance company was a bit tedious--not the fault of Bluemont. The appartment was ready on time with a few adjustments needed. The resident was very disappointed in the food but that is typical of most institutions. We managed to get the month of August discount which was helpful

Really a nice setting on a hilltop with beautiful old growth trees, quiet, staff is cheerful/helpful, very clean and lots of natural light. Lots of activities on the schedule. The rooms we were shown were nice, studio apartments are a on the small side in my view, especially for the price.
