The quality of care is fantastic and they always get to my mom when they can. Because of covid they are short staffed, so sometimes it is not as fast as we hope, but I know if they were staffed properly it would be amazing. They have plenty of activities provided and the residents seem to love them. The medications are pretty pricey, she only takes 1 pill and it costs around [amount removed]. Overall the value for the money is great, it is worth it for the peace of mind that we get having her here. My mom lived here for less than four months. She was visually disabled and money was stolen from her room on more than one occasion. Laundry was not done on a regular basis, sometimes she was not dressed before 11:00, and dosages were not correct after they took over her meds. These were just some things that we were paying extra to have done for her. Finally when she left we were told that we wouldn't get much money back after the thirty day notice because of apartment damages. We took pictures of every wall and there was no damage when she left. They have no proof of any repairs. Be aware that you pay full price for a month after leaving, including services that cannot be rendered like bathing, dressing, and meds. Finally mom fell due to a lack of oxygen from double pneumonia. No one there discovered she was sick until she went to the hospital after the fall. Mom did not go back to this facility.
This felt cold and they didn't have friendly staff. They had small rooms. It was more expensive for what you would receive for us.
Our family had an in person tour and the tour was fine, the staff seemed to be fine, but it did not feel that it was the best for our mom at the time.

My mother has a great network of friends and staff at this facility. We call it the resort because it’s like vacation to us. Someone is cooking for her, cleaning for her and doing her laundry. She is happy and healthy and we know she is well taken care of. I would recommend this resort to anyone that asked. No place is absolutely perfect. And while we have had a few minor glitches, they are always promptly addressed and taken care of immediately. I couldn’t ask for better.

October 18, 2021Hi KB, thank you for this amazing review of Southview Assisted Living & Memory Care. Wow - a resort! We are so grateful for these kind words, but more importantly, for having the chance to care for your mom. It's a pleasure to have her call Southview home. If there's ever anything we can help with, don't hesitate to let us know.
Southview has a BEAUTIFUL environment -- dining rooms, common areas, etc. They have a personalized care plan to ensure you only pay for care you need. If the resident's needs change, the care plan changes, too. The features that I like the most are: chef-prepared meals with a very extensive menu--which is handed out to each resident; apartments in a variety of sizes; cable tv; a library with computers; a theater; walking paths; elevator; enriching activities, etc. So, if this sounds like a terrific way to spend retirement, please call [name removed] at [phone number removed]. He will not only present what Southview offers, but he imparts so much general knowledge no matter what facility you choose. He is SO down-to-earth. He is very experienced in this field -- he discusses the psychological and emotional issues involved in this decision. I promise that you won't be sorry if you give [name removed] a call.

Our family had an in person tour and it was nice but the lady who gave us the tour was very business like and not warm and fuzzy. She gave us the tour and went through all her protocols, and it just was all sales.
Everything about Southview has been very positive and reassuring. [name removed] made the process as smooth and simple as possible and [name removed], the memory care manager made my dad feel comfortable and welcome. During this trying time everyone at Southview made it a much less difficult transition than I would have believed.

June 1, 2021Thank you Mike for your great review of Southview Assisted Living!
I would tell others it is more like independent living than I thought it would. Most of the people are friendly and kind to my loved one. I would like to see some clarity on what the caregivers are supposed to do and what is considered overstepping for them. Communication is one of the problems here, such as the staff not talking to each other all the time. The community had a program that allowed a trusted companion to be able to see their loved one during the pandemic. This was awesome for my family.
The administrators were very nice and caring. Some of the caregivers I felt were not qualified or did not take the covid precautions seriously. The community is very neat and clean. The communication was not the best between the staff and the family. I have tried to call several times and would not receive a callback. If all of these issues were fixes then I would recommend this community to others.
Overall the community did a good job and was very responsive, and was always receptive. I would definitely recommend this community to others

December 5, 2020Thank you, Sanford, for the five-star review about Southview Assisted Living and Memory Care!
I understand the stress everyone is under but this doesn't warrant rudeness and disrespect. My mother has lived at Southview for close to two years and up until recently we have always been treated with kindness. I'm positive that we aren't the only ones who call or stop by the facility with questions during these uncertain times. Trust me when I say that I know everyone is busy, I don't need you to remind me of this when I call. Hopefully, this provides some insight on how the staff communicate with us when we call. This week a care staff member informed us of several management changes, which is very concerning. Why are we the last to know when such major changes are occurring? I am very disappointed with Southview. My mother still resides at Southview and due to this I wish not to provide my name.
Visited here and loved the atmosphere. I liked the various activities and outdoor garden area. I felt the smaller group setting would be less intimidating for my mom to get involved. The rooms were a little smaller than what she was use to but would have worked . Unfortunately we have to move mom to a continuous care facility.

August 16, 2019Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. Take care!
Southview is a beautiful place for my parents to live. Their apartment is lovely and very well equipped for them. It is bright and cheery and totally un-institutional feeling! The staff are very courteous and friendly. They also do a great job of keeping me aware of things that happen. It has taken some time to get the cleaning/laundry schedule kinks worked out but I’m hopeful that is resolved soon. My parents favorite time of the week is Happy Hour on Fridays. They look forward to it. They don’t attend any of the outings, mainly because they are scheduled for early morning and they are not morning people. They were interested in the Joey B’s outing but it only had room for 2 wheelchair people and those spots were taken. My mom has had her hair done in the salon several times and they do a fabulous job! The dining room is beautifully decorated and tables are covered with linen cloths and napkins. The wait staff are so kind and attentive. 5??Service! The people that work here are all so kind and friendly and welcoming. My siblings and I are very happy with Southview.

April 19, 2019Hello, we're happy to hear you had such a positive experience with our team! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
My godmother lived in the memory care here for over 2 years. We moved her from a place that really couldn't handle her increasing dementia and was charging a small fortune for "private" care. They are so good at handling people with dementia at this memory care facility that she didn't require any "private" care and the overall cost of her care was was greatly reduced. I had to monitor her medications for the first few weeks to make sure they were doing it right but once they got it down, we didn't have any trouble. I can still remember the great relief I felt when a staff member said "I've got her. She'll be fine." I always felt she was in good hands. There is very little turnover of the staff, compared to the facility we came from. They must be taking good care of them and they take good care of the residents. Most of the staff that was there when she moved in is still there. They really know how to handle people with dementia. This place and these people made this very difficult time in my godmother's life bearable and at times, even enjoyable.
Visited to check out the services offered. The amenities are nice and new. Like the flexible dining schedule and the standard food items that are available. Offer good options on Memory/Respite Care.
