My loved one is currently a resident at Signal Mountain Senior Living and most everything has been very good for him at this facility so far. The move in process was okay. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also keep me updated about my loved one, even if I have just visited him. The food is good. The housekeeping could use a little help. Overall, I would recommend Signal Mountain Senior Living to others.

Anyone considering this facility is welcome to [removed] this is not a place you want to put your loved one-poor management and supervision-everyone has a different job and there is no consistency or acceptance of responsibility

Overall the staff at Signal Mountain have been great. There are some grumpy employees, and we have had a few issues with cleaning that needed to be ironed out. Mom loves the activities. The food is terrible. I make meals for mom and deliver them to her to have when she just can eat the food that day. That said, there is always a hamburger or sandwich available. Unfortunately she's diabetic, so that's not always helpful.

I toured with Signal Mountain Senior Living and in one word it was simply nasty. It was the worst out of them all. It was dirty inside and out.

Mother just recently passed away after two years at SMSL. Her apartment was lovely with a balcony and beautiful view! She eventually had to move to the 3rd floor because she was not able to do the stairs in case of fire. It was a great room also. I can't say enough positive things about the staff here. They went out of their way to take care of Mother and make her feel loved and safe. Everyone from the Nurses, Resident Assistances, Maintenance and Administration were outstanding! A special shout-out to [name removed] the chef and wait staff in the Dining Room.......Mother loved [name removed] cooking and she adored [name removed] too! It's hard to put a loved one into a facility when you can no longer take care of them but SMSL was a Godsend to me and my husband for the care and love they bestowed upon Mother. They were also so supported of me when at times I would start to enter the rabbit hole of stress and anxiety over Mother. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!!

August 13, 2023Hi Beverly, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your family's experience with Signal Mountain Senior Living. Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your mother, Beverly; it is so difficult losing a loved one, and we are humbled to know that her time with us was such a positive one. Your kind words about our staff mean a lot to us. We strive to provide caring and compassionate service to all of our residents and their families, especially during times of stress and uncertainty. If there is anything we can do to assist you further, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you again for your valuable feedback.
I think the staff is exceptional. Everyone we met was so friendly and we had a chance to meet all of the directors of the different departments the first day we went to visit. I thought the food was going to be a little bit better than it has turned out to be. I had a chance to meet the chef and the kitchen staff though and they make every effort to do the best that they can and want to try and allow you to individually choose what you want. They will make whatever you would like that is not on the menu and I think that is great. The property and the view is very pleasant as well. The security is great and we also got the numbers for the front desk if we were there afterhours. It feels very safe. The value for the money here is great, he is saving a lot of money each month by being here. We did not even have to look at other places, he put his money down the day that we came to tour.

Our family had an in person tour and overall we would say that everyone we met with was very friendly and very accommodating, but the residences and atmosphere just felt old

August 13, 2023Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your tour experience! We are so happy to hear that you felt welcomed by our amazing staff and care team. Our community has a wide variety of spaces and styles - if you're interested in visiting again we'd be happy to showcase the full b enefits of our living and communal spaces.
I would tell others to ask more questions than what I did. I think I had a real lack of knowledge about how assisted living and memory care operates. Ask more questions and educate yourself more. There's been some things that disappointed me and I wish I would've asked up front. It may be like that overall everywhere, but there are a few specific things I wish I had more information about. It wasn't offered to me, but if I had educated myself a little more I would have known to ask those questions. In regards to the food; it's a little heavy on the salt, but I know it's hard to cook in mass quantity. The value for the cost is too expensive, but it's comparable as well as competitive. It's very pricey and there are a lot of little incidentals that I don't like. I'm mostly satisfied, but I needed more information.

September 23, 2022Hello Pamela, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will use your comments to refine our efforts to ensure this issue does not happen again.
My loved one was taken to hospice in the beginning of the month. I paid for the whole month although he passed in hospice. The woman I was supposed to speak with regarding a reimbursement was out of town for several weeks and I'm not pleased with that at all. She never got back to me. He was in memory care, but was never interacted with or engaged in any activities. He pretty much just sat in a corner, didn't look at the TV or anything, I'm not pleased with that either. As we were moving to the hospice facility, away from the community, my sister (who had furnished his room at the terrace) said it was awful in there - as she was cleaning up his room. She said there was urine everywhere and it smelled bad. We were gone for weeks and no one was living in his room, but it still wasn't clean. I would tell others, "no way" with their memory care. Their regular facility might be okay as we didn't know much about that and it seemed to be okay, but memory care was not clean at all. It wasn't as expensive as the other the places, but I now see why. If he would have somehow survived hospice, it would not have been ideal. As far as the condition he was left in, I was glad he passed, rather than living in that condition. I would hate to see someone else in those conditions at The Terrace. I would never place another loved one there.

Our loved one absolutely loves the meals and dining service. They do not have much activities going on right now we think they are going through a staffing change, but when they did have them the residents would go out on weekly grocery trips, and to different restaurants. Our loved one does currently enjoy playing card games and socializing. The value is worth every penny for that peace of mind and we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

[name removed] has been so helpful from day 1! We have had so many difficulties with trying to find affordable as well as stylish accommodations for my sister [name removed]. We are moving from Oklahoma with a schedule that is dictated by a bankruptcy hearing. But [name removed] promised she would do everything in her power to make it work! She has been true to her word! She even convinced [name removed] to come when I could not get a solid commitment. Well done!

They have not been very communicative to us as far as returning our calls when we have a need. That's really the only issue that I've had. The facility itself is excellent. I'm very pleased with it and couldn't' task for a better building. As far as the care, we had some initial challenges and are still working out a care plan for my loved one.

The Terrace at Mountain Creek will provide your loved one with a community that radiates warmth and security. Aging is hard and leaving your home is even harder. The Terrace is the assisted living that does not feel like an assisted living. The cleanliness and simplicity of the facility invites your loved one to the next chapter in their lives without the artificial and meaningless chandeliers and paraphernalia other assisted living think the elderly want. Caring for the elderly is complex and no facility is perfect but the Terrace at Mountain Creek aims to please.

I had the opportunity to place my loved one here at this community. It was recommended by a family friend. We had heard many negative stories and concerns, we were unsure. We toured and were impressed with the overall appearance, the building is old, but seems to be kept in good repair and the interior decor is beautiful. The outdoor setting is serene. The staff make you feel welcomed and like you are a part of the family. The overall feel was very welcoming and home-like. The care we have received has been phenomenal in all areas. We could not of asked for a better place.

My loved one was there for a short period of time. Our only issue we had was getting our money back after he passed. That took a few months but we did get paid eventually. This is a locked memory unit. This location has 2 floors and memory care was on the first floor. The staff did a fine job caring for my loved one. The business manager was great and very helpful getting my loved one in and getting information that we needed. She was as sweet as can be.
My Mom has been there for 4 days now and to our surprise she likes it. She has never liked change and she was never very social but she is now. She is doing well, she states that all the staff has been very nice to her. All the staff has been nice and very helpful to my brother and myself. She even likes the food, she's a picky eater.

They charged me [amount removed] in December, and my loved ones rate is approximately [amount removed]. They did not return any of my phone calls when trying to figure out why I was double charged. I call a couple times a week about medications and I never get a call back. We got hospice involved and they tried to change my loved ones medications they tried calling and faxing for 8 hours and got no response. She went by the facility and was not able to get in. They took away residents door key because someone had gotten out of the facility, but how is anyone supposed to get back in after they leave if they do not have a key. They do not have a call button and no one is at the front desk so it is impossible to get back in and we are left outside waiting. They are always supposed to call me if there are any questions about medications, but they always call my sister in law when they have told them numerous times to contact me. There were several weeks my loved one did not get medications and they never reached out to tell us that he was out of these medications. If the facility is on lock down they have no system in place and it is impossible to communicate with anyone. They are losing a lot of residents recently from family members moving loved ones out. I am extremely frustrated with the experience.
