Not a place for mom’s final years!

My mom and dad lived at Rogue Valley Manor for over 20 years. Their final years, when they needed the most care, were abysmal. If you want a place to live and die with dignity and grace, RVM is NOT for you. If you do not have local family to check in on you when you’re in your final years, when you’re weak and vulnerable like my mom was, then don’t live here. We paid a lot of extra money for additional care for mom and they said she “was fine” when I called from FL to check on her. When I couldn’t get in touch with my mom, I asked a neighbor to check on her and they found her bed-ridden, soiled, with a broken ankle. I flew out immediately and what ensued was the worst experience of my life trying to get her properly cared for on Christmas Eve. When she was at the RVM health center, she languished in bed and the Dr didn’t see that she had a large tumor and she died shortly thereafter but by that time she’d been in great pain and was beyond getting treatment. Not a place for mom!
