Good for those who can live independently, but bad for those who need extra help

Our loved one was only there for a few months until we moved them out. During that time they said the breakfast meals were good but the other meals were terrible. They had activities but our loved one was never invited or encouraged to participate. When our loved one moved in they assessed her at a level 3 care and they advised she would have everything she would need, and all her needs would be met but that was not the case. Our loved one needed to be physically escorted to the dining area via wheelchair and on many occasions she was forgotten about. House keeping never came to our loved ones room, we would clean it when we would come and visit. The Lexington has now been taken over by new management and we have heard they are making some nice improvements.

my experience

Overall I feel your loved one would be safe here. The only issue that I have seen is the building is aging and there are some repairs needed, and the courtyard could be re-landscaped and modernized. I would like to see more choices of vegetarian meals for the residence or the ability to choose from a menu. I would recommend this community to others.

We Feel Like We Made The Best Choice For Our Loved One

Aside from the Covid stuff, there's lot of rules in place because of that, they seem to be pretty competent. They provide everything our loved one needs, and he seems to be happy here. He's fully mentally competent, so he would tell us if he thought something was wrong. They provide meals, laundry, activities, and they have a nurse there 24 hours a day. So if anything comes up, they have someone to assess the situation before they would call an ambulance or anything. They do a good job here.

I would recommend, the issues I see exist in all nursing homes

We chose Lexington Place at the time because they were coming off of quarantine and they did not have as many restrictions on their residents as some of the other places. The room sizes here seem to be adequate. Overall, it is a nice place. I do think that they could have really improved the quality of their activities and done more for their residents to keep them busy during quarantine.

peace of mind

The community really does care about the people that live there and they do their best to do special things for them. I would definitely recommend this community to others and I already have many times.

Overall great place for senior care

My scores are based on prior to the new management. We chose Lexington place because of what you got for the value, we felt like it was a nice facility with good programs compared to some others we looked into. The rooms are all studio apartments, but they have different sizes so you can choose what better fits your needs. About 2 months ago, they got a new director and some of the things that she has put into place are not good right now and she is not good with communication. We have had to go above her in order to get answers on things and issues that we are having. I do believe the person we have been speaking to is trying to help and solve some of these issues. But overall my mom is very happy here and well taken care of. Even with the issues we are having, we are still happy with our choice of Lexington place in general.

We would recommend this community to anyone who asks

When we first visited Lexington Place we really liked how friendly the staff and other residents were. It is a very good community and the value is very reasonable. the overall look of this community as well as the room sizes are very nice. Our loved one would have to give the food a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Would not recommend this community

When we were first visiting this community we really liked how it looked, it had a homey feeling to it. The staff however didn't stay in contact with me when it came to the care of our loved one, the communication was lacking. The food at this community was good.

Living large

Some of the activities they had for the residents were board games, exercise classes, they even took them on trips like to the fair. The food is just okay sometimes. The rooms are more spacious then other communities looked at. The outdoor space was very nice, we would recommend this to other families or friends but with reservations.

Spacious gracious living

It is a spacious place. They have an enclosed outdoor space with a path, benches and flowers so you can feel safe with them going outside. Room sizes are good. Food is pretty good. They have not been the greatest with communication since she has moved in. They are accommodating when you drop things off for your loved ones now that you can not visit. They also have a glassed in area at the front of the building where you can go and talk to and see your loved one through the glass.

Such a beautiful happy environment. [Name removed] is a very caring understanding person. The activity list for the month was outstanding. My sister and I wanted to move in ourselves. Beautiful flower garden for meditating, leisure walk with a friend or bird watching.

The facility is undergoing renovation and that is commendable. There were some minor issues. We requested a rate schedule and this has not been received. The strong smell of perfume inside is unusual. The lunches and dinners only have one side dish, not the two we are used to seeing. [Name removed]

Lexington place is bad

After taking an entry fee of $1000 and promised that my mother could stay there for rest of her life they waited 2 months and started trying to get rid of my mother. After 4 months they sent us a 30 day notice. Most of the staff is pretty good but a high turnover. The manager [Name removed] is worthless as she does not do anything she promises. You would be better off finding another place for your family .

Options for care

We toured this community for the care for my mom. We were happy with the staff who were able to answer the questions we had. The community was clean and the menu was appealing. We wanted a community that was able to work with our financial needs. We would recommend that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

Seems to Have Adjusted Well

My father seems to be doing pretty well since his move to this community. He seems to be enjoying it so far, and I'am satisfied with his move here. I have not had any problems with the staff. They have been friendly and polite. My father isn't into activities very much, but they do have some offered for the residents. He says there is some room for improvement in the meal area. Overall he is doing pretty well at this community, and I would recommend it.
