Haven at Lakewood

Called when our Mother needed an assisted living place, A Place for Mom, was right there, with all kinds of information. Locations and helps suggestions on what to ask and look out for. They made our task so much simpler. VERY friendly and cooperative. Plus they sent me several appointments reservations around were we wanted mom to be. Overall I am very Pleased with the process. Haven at Lakewood was our choice after 10 different places we looked. After several months being there. Mom is very happy, and well taken care of, and that is all that matters. Keep it up, Happy to say your doing a great job!!!

I would recommend this as your top choice for your loved one. The value for the money here is wonderful. My loved one's room and the community are clean and spacious. This is a very homey environment compared to feeling like a dorm room setting. We were able to bring our own furniture for our loved one into the community.

I am very happy with them and the services they provide. This location has 8 floors. The apartments are excellent inside. Housekeeping comes once a week. Laundry service comes regularly or you could do your own on the 2nd floor laundry room. For the price she is paying and the care she is getting, we are very happy. They provide activities like a therapy dog that comes in weekly, crafts, cards, bingo, and movie night. They provide a bus for transportation for outings if you sign up for as well as appointments. The nurses are really good. If they have any questions or concerns regarding my loved ones care, they will call me. Pets are allowed like small dogs and cats for a fee. They provide an emergency button necklace for each resident as well as pull strings for emergencies in the bathrooms and bedrooms. The one thing they could improve on is the food.

My relative was in there for some years. It has gotten very bad and no manager nor the administrator cares to fix it. The owner was called but we had to leave a message. He or the other family members never contacted us back. The aids do not do their jobs properly and take their time getting to you. When they do, they are rude and want to rush. Some of the nurses should not work in the field because of the way they treat all the residents. They show no respect or concern about the residents. I definitely do not have anything to say about the new director of nursing. She is the devil in disguise. She has the whole facility upset with the way she, not the administrator, is running Bloom down to nothing. They can't keep help because no respectable person wants to work for that woman. I am glad my family member no longer has to endure all the things he had to put up with. If you care about yourself or a loved one. do not place them in this facility.

We chose Bloom at Lakewood because of the location, the reviews it got online, and the surrounding look of the facility itself, it is more centrally located. The room sizes here are pretty good. They do provide a lot of activities and keep them busy. They also provide transportation for them to appointments which is nice. The meals have great variety and if they do not like what is being served, they can prepare something off menu. I would recommend to others looking.

I would definitely recommend this community as a viable option for families. Their responsiveness, staff members, and outreach are stellar. The location is so convenient for family as well as residents in terms of getting out and being able to go to stores and take the shuttle. I would move in myself if they'd let me!

Has good focus on the importance of family visits, and providing options...

It is not a fancy place, no frills, it is a family place I would recommend Bloom at Lakewood. it. The food okay. The rooms are a good size. The layout is good. They only have two elevators and one seems to be down frequently which is hard. They have a little outdoor place as well.

Very nice people with very large apartments. We are definitely considering Bloom as an option.

The community has a very home like feel. Everyone is very personable. Cynthia was very knowledgable and you can tell that she is very involved with her staff and residents.

My mother in law is very happy with the care she is given at this community. The staff is excellent with the care they are giving her. The food seems to be good with a nice variety for her to choose from. We would recommend this community to anyone looking for excellent care for family or friends

Every one is helpful and friendly. Parents have been there a month and are having trouble adjusting that staff is trying hard to help with. Also have medical issues that have caused a little confusion with home health care nurse and staff, but quickly settled. Staff monitors for 30-45 days, helping them to settle in. Any questions are politely handled, putting you in contact with correct person.

Although a bit more expensive than my Mom's previous residence, Bloom provides good value for the price with good, spacious floor plans, very friendly and well trained staff, and a nice schedule of activities and outings. Also, thanks to "A Place for Mom" for getting us together.

Absolutely warm, inviting and comfortable. That is what we felt as soon as we walked in to the lobby. We can not say enough about the staff. The maintenance supervisor was compassionately helping a resident to mend his watch when we brought our Mom in to get a look at Bloom. We knew then that our Mom would not be tossed aside. Robin York is AMAZING. She was extremely helpful and patient. She walked us through everything (and still does). I commute from Cincinnati to Cleveland and when I arrive at Bloom in Lakewood I feel refreshed because Shari, Samantha and Of course Jessica (the Life Enhancement Coordinator) as well as Marcie (the Business Office Manager) have kept a watchful eye on my Mom as well as all the other residents. WOW. Shelli really helps us to feel that Mom's health is a priority. Thank goodness for her, as Bloom's Wellness Director. Wendy is awesome even though she is the Director she is very hands on and patient. I arrived unannounced and she spent a while addressing my concerns and questions. (She was so pleasant and professional, fun too). That was a total relief. My Mom loves her new appartment, she has made friends and is in the Garden Club and the Walking Club. This is a wonderful turn around from being in a coma after 2 brain sugeries, just 2 months ago at the age of 79. We will always be grateful to A Place For Mom. Thank You, Amanda, Sam, Sonya, and Robert.

They were really good at making mom feel welcome, which was of course very important given that making this transition can be a rough experience. They made it very smooth, and it has been a very good place with wonderfully friendly people. I'd highly recommend Bloom at Lakewood.
