We cannot comment on the activities because my mother did not participate in any activities. My Mother was at the facility for respite care. I can take her there for a minimum of 7 days instead of the usual 30 days that other facilities require. Would you recommend this community to other families

I didn't see a lot of residents talking and socializing. My dad came for respite care for a week. We scheduled to arrive at 9am. It was not communicated to the staff when we would arrive. I spent 4 hours waiting for him to be admitted. Tv and telephone weren't hooked up so I had to wait. They promised a buddy system and someone would show him around. I ended up taking him to lunch and finding a table with 2 men who said he could seat with him. I ended up going back at supper to make sure he was ok. He likes bingo but no one brought him to the activity. He was close to 94 yrs old and no one seemed to give him much attention. I visited another center that seemed to have resident and staff socialize more. When I brought him home he cried and said he was glad to be home. So for now I am the one still taking care of everything. They need a better buddy system and more help welcoming new residents.

We toured Excellence Senior Living and had a great tour experience. We did not choose this facility because it seemed more institutional feeling. It just did not feel like the right place for my loved one.
They were open to our needs, and very accomodating. They were very cordial and attentive They did to their jobs and we appreciated it. I would recommend to other families.

This was a very good community. I went with another community because it was closer and easy access to get to my father. Location was the only difference that made me go with another community.
We finally got her to go and she is here and doing well and still adjusting. She likes her room and says that it is very clean and she likes the staff as well. We really have not had any problems with them other than a hair incident in the beginning and I would recommend to others who are looking.

People in Florida aren't wearing masks at this time, and Excellence is closing things down every week or so due to new Covid cases. Currently only one visitor can come in at a time, and they require a negative Covid test to come in. When we asked, they said only about 25% of their employees are vaccinated. But the people there are very nice, and very helpful to our loved one. They're experiencing a lack of staff, but that's the case everywhere right now. The food isn't great, but our loved one is happy with the little refrigerator and coffee maker in her room, and she's happy with people bringing in groceries for her. During the time she moved in, I feel like a lot of people were moving in after delaying the process due to Covid, which was somewhat chaotic. But I think they're trying to do their best.
I was very pleased with Excellence Senior Living. It had everything I was looking for - a smaller community with a homey feel. But they couldn't accommodate my loved one's level of care.
This place is a newer bulling, about 4-5 years old. It's a lot cleaner than the other places we first looked at. The staff are really very friendly. We've switched doctors to their doctor, and he's worked out great with the medications and everything. So we're satisfied with that. Every time our loved one has an issue, they touch base with us. And if she's been exaggerating something, we figure that out pretty quickly because it tends to be the same sorts of things. I'd definitely recommend this community to others.

Our family had an in person tour, and our experience was great. The community was very clean there were no fowl smells. The building itself was more modern, and we also felt it was more modern in the offerings they provided.
The price is good and you should come join. There is ample space for walking. The staff has been great to work with.

The facility is very nice. I like it but a little concern with the distance from their current doctors in Titusville. The cost is higher than they can afford. I will need to check with their insurance and Medicare to see if a any of these can contribute.

This is the best place to go. We put my loved one there, and she loves it. The people are good, the food is excellent. The staff take great care of my loved one's room and do her laundry. My loved one is doing great at this community. When we go visit we must wear a gown and mask. We must keep a 6 feet distance. We can make an appointment to see our loved one's as many times as we want a week. They supply everything for the visit. The visit in a room on the first floor. We have to fill out a form before we go back for the visit, and they My loved one loves it here. Exercise room, cookouts, and musical entertainment are some of the activities. Great value for the money! My husband said that he would go to this community in a heartbeat. The community is beautiful both inside and out. There is a gate in front of the community. The residents can't wonder off either, because of the gate.

Our first impression of Excellence Senior Living was great, the community was very clean, very bright and very family orientated. The rooms are just perfect, very good size. Our loved one says the food is good, she really loves it.

I went and toured a lot of other facilities, I still believe Excellence Senior Living is one of the top ones. We chose it mainly because it was a clean and fairly new facility. It was just the best choice overall for us. The room sizes are more than adequate. She says the food in the beginning was great, and has gone downhill since COVID and they also have changed chefs. The best part about the community is the people are friendly and it is a secure facility that is very well run.

We were late to our appointment and the lady giving the tour was still very polite and accommodating. The prices and accommodations were reasonable and the site was very neat and clean.

Mixed Review, depends on patients/residents needs. This is more of a retirement/independent living facility, not an actual assisted living. Basically for elderly who need very minimal help. For them it is quite lovely. My father however needed assisted living, we even paid for the mid-level assisted living care as well as for laundry on top of the regular monthly rent. He needed much prompting to use toilet as he is incontinent with no urge to urinate so should have had hourly-ish cueing. He wasn't assisted in changing his disposable underwear though when he was prompted, he would be told to do it even though it was listed in his ADL's to have bladder management assistance. I believe the only actual ADL he was provided any assistance with was showering twice a week. His bowel movements weren't even monitored, even though he took medication for constipation daily, so when he didn't go for several days, he did end up many times clogging the toilet, i was told once if he continued to clog the toilet I would be charged a outside plumber's fee. Seemed to me they should have been monitoring his medicals daily and realized if he might have needed something extra to call the doctor about to get him regular on weeks there may have been a problem. Deliveries would not be put away for him, but rather just left in the entry to his room making the actual space to go through a tight squeeze to navigate with his walker. I contacted nursing several times requesting health updates and never received info (I live in a different state). I was never informed his incontinence had gotten worse, nor about his vision getting worse (he is legally blind in one eye due to Macular degeneration. Upon reviewing his recent doctor notes, i saw nothing regarding either. I didn't see any nursing notes by staff given to the doctor outlining his health changes either. My father received the newspaper daily and apparently at some point within last several months living there he stopped reading them. This was a major behavioral change and it apparently wasn't noted anywhere in his records. I am fairly certain when he would visit the doctor (who did visit on site so that was nice) the doctor probably asked him how was he doing, and my father who has short term memory loss and mild cognitive impairment would say fine, and the discussion ended. The nursing staff does not assist with shaving, and they do have a 'beauty shop' but it is more aimed at woman needing their hair done, so we had to consistently take my father to get shaves at the barber shop. Again it is a lovely place for Independent elderly, but it is far from an assisted living facility and it does not allow for aging in place. Oh, almost forgot, his ankles were raw with scratching which also wasn't noted in any medical notes given to me (he is diabetic with Neuropathy and was supposedly seeing the podiatrist regularly as well, but ...?), and his new doctor prescribed cream which is now applied daily and his ankles are smooth and fine within a week. He is doing much better now, getting changed on a regular basis, going to see a urologist again to seek more help, has seen the neurologist for the increased short term memory loss, as well as will be seeing a retina specialist to determine why the vision loss has dramatically increased and if there is anything we can do to rectify it.

Its very nice place, but they try to say they have changed from a 'senior living' to an assisted living, but they aren't quite there. I have several experiences with independent livings & assisted livings from my mom before she had to be moved to a nursing home before she passed. This place is more of an Independent living with add on services. It is a very nice place but it is not meeting my family members needs and i quite often get calls about how he isn't more or less following rules, but that is why i pay for the level of care, for them to ensure he does what is needed. Though appearing to be in control of faculties, he isn't and that is why he needs assisted living. And he apparently doesn't even meet the higher end of care in their view, but yet they don't really do for him.

A Place for Mom has scored Excellence Senior Living 7.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
