My one issue is they do a lot of things by email, which is difficult for people with a tremor. I would much rather have people call me than email me. But I would definitely recommend them to others - and I have. When I go to visit my friend, she's very clean, her clothes are clean, and her room is clean. She was very heavy and struggled with restless legs, and both of those things are under control now, which means she's medication compliant. Between meals, I've seen them passing out a snack of fruit and crackers, and twice a day they pass out a large amount of water, which I was impressed with. The staff seem friendly as well. They talk to her, and they also talk to me when I come in.... Read more

This is a small community and the staff are nice and attentive. However it is kind of just the bare bones. They have activities like going out to watch the air shows nearby, beach parties, outside dance parties, and so much more for the residents to do to stay busy. Everyday they have something going on it was just all enclosed in in their space, always something for them to do.
Very caring group - mom was happy there
The staff members are very friendly, and the meals and dining service is okay. The care services are what I am having a problem with and the value for cost is way to high.
If you are looking for memory care, this is the best out there. The care they have been giving my loved one has been outstanding. I would like to be able to go in to see my loved one. The communication has been pretty good with the staff.
If somebody is looking for a place that is affordable, if they're undecided, I would absolutely recommend Cedar Woods. I've been in several facilities, and I wasn't impressed, even some of the "better" ones. I thought Cedar Woods were very good. I never had a problem, couldn't complain about my loved one's care. And I was there a lot. There was no smell at all, which is not the case in other places. They were just really on top of the residents that were incontinent. I never once smelled urine or feces, and that's a big deal. All you'd smell was disinfectant. It was very clean there. My loved one had dementia and had some falls, but that certainly wasn't their fault. His brain and his body just weren't communicating. I was in and out of lot of places, and Cedar Woods was very good. I remember it from many years ago, when it wasn't very good. It was Belleville at the time. They did a really great job of turning the place around. The staff are great. They were all wonderful. My loved one didn't complain about the food, and I met the cook. She was wonderful. I know they were always having something for the residents to do. The activities were pretty good from what I could see. I think the value was great, more than fair. When my loved one was in a shared room, he never had any problems. They have a hospice service at Cedar Woods called Heart to Heart, and I would rate them 200% if I could. Especially during this Covid year, Cedar Woods was on top of everything. They were very, very adamant about having a Covid test if you were coming through the doors. And the only visitors allowed through the doors were for residents on hospice, up until the guidelines changed. When my loved one was on hospice care for several months, they required rapid Covid tests before we could come in to visit. The owner was just absolutely adamant about Covid procedure. And they were Covid free the entire year of 2020 through the end of the Fall. When it did show up, it was very brief and handled well.
We checked out five places and Cedar Woods was the most cost-effective. My wife had Alzheimer's and does not do too many activities. Prior to the Pandemic they had entertainment and music and she liked that. We chose Cedar Woods because they are able to manage my wife's high care needs. We have been happy with her care so far.
The staff was very good to my dad. They went through a lot of doctors and some were not very good. My dad loved the food. The layout of the community and room sizes were good. They had two gardens for residents to enjoy.
Everyone at this facility is family. Cedar Woods provides my mom with the best care and continuously treat her with respect and compassion. The maintain a safe and clean environment that I am entirely grateful for. Thank you to the Cedar Woods family!
The tour was very informative and well lead.
Appearance of facility needs updating. Appears too “ institutional”, e.g., old tile floors. Fluorescent lighting.
The staff was great, residents appeared clean and happy. Facility was quite dated, they are updating slowly. Majority of rooms are small beds, multi residents. Not a fit for mom
The atmosphere and the food was really good. The personal attention from the Director down to staff was caring and tried to make my Mom feel welcome and comfortable
We did not like Cedar Woods and I do not recommend it as a place for your loved one. It may seem like a good value but you get what you pay for. My loved one hated living there and as a result we moved them to another facility that does a better job in caring for them. The facility was always chaotic and smelled strongly of urine when I visited. Patients get little one on one attention. Due to my experience I can not recommend this facility.
Looks like would be affordable for my mother's care needs. Many different cost options. Tour was great. I would consider this facility for my mother. Still looking for options for her dog however, there may be none available.
As a licensed health practitioner and educator, as well the daughter of a very elderly couple; I feel my assessments of assisted living facilities are quite rigorous. Yet after spending a couple of weeks in Michigan, visiting my parents daily at Cedar Woods Assisted Living, I flew home to NM in a peaceful state of mind; knowing my parents were living in an environment that exceeded my expectations. The building itself is clean and well-maintained. The owner and staff make a point of knowing their residents very well and demonstrate attitudes of respect and affection for each and every person living there. As a visitor, I was always greeted warmly and found my questions and concerns responded to quickly. If you are seeking a safe and caring living environment for yourself or for a loved one who needs a little extra support; I urge you to pay a visit to Cedar Woods.
I do feel this is a good community for my mother, and her needs. Everything has worked out pretty well, and I'am comfortable with her move here. I know she is in good hands, the staff is good. They are taking good care of her, and her needs. When I visit the community, and her room are well maintained. They could use some improvement in the laundry area, they tent to lose clothes a lot. Also I would like to see more of a variety of foods for the residents to choose from. They do offer a wide range of activities. This is a community I would recommend to my friends, it is working out well for us.
My dad is a Cedar Woods resident in the memory care section of the home. He is very comfortable at Cedar Woods and I wouldn't want him staying anywhere else. The staff is the best around and always friendly and caring towards him and all the residents. The constantly keep him busy with things to do like activities and games to play. I have searched and been to dozens of assisted living facilities and none compare to the quality and home sense presence like Cedar Woods does! My dad loves Cedar Woods and I am very happy I found them!
The best assisted living home around hands down goes to Cedar Woods. My dad loves it here and the staff is all very friendly and caring. Thank you for all that you guys do.
My dad loves Cedar Woods and is very comfortable here claiming it truly brings an at home environment to him as soon as he walked through the doors. My dad is a memory care resident at the assisted living home and the staff is always so loving and caring it makes me as comfortable putting my dad in there hands. The constant updates being made are also very resourceful, especially the new theater room its really awesome! I have researched multiple places and visited many but none of them come close to Cedar Woods Assisted Living of Belleville. My dad loves it here and I am comfortable with him here!
