I think that they need to make it clean that when transportation is offered, it is only Tuesdays and Thursdays. The doctor also only comes around every so often, so you don't see him many times. They do use their own pharmacy and they are very expensive.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you further and encourage you to reach out to our management team.
It is a safe community, but the food is terrible. The food is overcooked, cold, under seasoned. This is some of the worst cafeteria food I've seen. There are shopping excursions available, Sunday school type meetings, therapy games, and more available for activities. The grounds and balconies are beautiful.
Brookdale provided a safe and friendly place for my mom to spend her final days. The staff was attentive and caring during her stay. They made sure she got meals and helped her in any way needed. Given the difficulties with staffing during the pandemic, they were outstanding. Great place with great people.
We toured this community and it was very pretty. The tour was good and they answered all of our questions. We need a community that focused on memory care so they didn't fit our needs but we really like them
Whenever we are able to visit the community is kept clean, and they recently opened up the community for visitation on Mother's Day. The staff members have been very friendly, and so far our loved one has not complained about the food. The activities director there is fabulous, she does birthday celebrations, she decorates for holiday's and for Mother's Day they had a little tea party. At first the value for cost was disappointing we have had multiple issues with the monthly statements, we also were told somethings were included but when we signed they were actually not included. They physical therapy department has been very good to our loved one and very communicative to our family, they have been amazing. Our loved one has made friends right away, they go for walks, play bingo, have happy hours, they watch game shows and movies so she is loving it and always staying busy. The nursing staff has been very good as well and are focused with keeping our family in our looped, the receptionist is very kind as well. Everyone has been very kind to our family, our loved one is safe and comfortable there.
Very impressed with the presentation about the property. [name removed] talked with me and did a virtual tour which was outstanding. The amenities and facilities appear to be wonderful. We are going to try to do an in person visit and based on a few more questions, plan to give this facility much consideration. The prices for services and the apparent quality of service seem to be outstanding. [name removed] was a wonderful host.
We chose Brookdale because my sister and her son visited a few places and they liked this one the best. The room sizes here seemed adequate. The food was better when it was served in the dining area, once COVID started the food was not as good when it was served in the room. Their billing was ok, but when my sister was in the hospital there should have been credits given for her care. The credits they made were not correct so I have been working with them for 2 months and I still do not have an answer.
The staff at Brookdale Salem do a good job keeping the residents engaged and active even during COVID. They do an amazing job with keeping our family up to date with whats going on with our loved one, the overall communication is excellent. This is a great facility, and they truly work hard given the circumstances.
the gentleman my appointment was with was "not in the building.". I had to wait for someone else to become available. When I mentioned my mother had food allergies (wheat and dairy), I was told that would probably be a problem and was asked if I still wanted a tour. Showers all had a edge to step over..not safe for persons with limited leg strength. I was not very impressed.
We have had some trouble with the financial office. My Mom's care is automatically deducted and they took $2,000.00 more than was agreed, an error but were not quick to assure my sister that we would get the credit promptly. This could cause her account to be overdrawn and incur lots of charges. Also staff is not prompt to call housekeeping to clean my Mom's room when she has had an accident which is often. They haven't put her name on her door yet and she's been there for 2 months. other than these issues I find the staff to be friendly and caring with my Mom. The food is OK, and she is basically content. I like the atmosphere there, it is homey and calm which is good for Mom.
My sister is well cared for. The only negative is the monthly billing is always incorrect.
[Name removed] spent time with me talking about my mother-in-law to access her current needs. We also discussed possible future changes in her needs and how the facility could accommodate those needs. The facility was clean and bright. I thought the layout of the floors was confusing. The residents I saw seemed happy. The studio rooms I was shown were not large. But were big enough for a twin bed, chair, tv and small desk or table. I did think the personal laundry charge of $90 / month to be quite high. This was for clothes only. Linens and towel laundry was included in the month rent. Onsite physical therapy was a nice feature.
My grandmother lived in this facility. She enjoyed her time here but the management was absolutely horrible. The staff was absolutely wonderful and they cared for her. She adored them and thought they were the best people ever. However, she was clearly just a number when management forced her out during an evaluation weekend. We had to stay with her 24/7 and find a new place to stay. Her level of care had not changed from one day to another but the management got nervous during an audit and she and a few other individuals had to be removed that weekend and they did it in the most disrespectful manner possible. The staff was in tears and we had to scramble to find a place for her to live that could work with her level of care and could have made a terrible choice. Honestly, I would never recommend a place like this that sees their patients as numbers to be forced out when they are seen as inconvenient. The staff was great, the management was horrible. Be careful and don't be taken in by the pretty exterior and nice tours. They'll kick you out in under a weekend but expect you to stay with your loved one the whole time too.
Great tour--[name removed] spent a lot of time answering all my questions. Also a beautiful facility.
A beautiful facility in a beautiful setting with friendly, approachable staff who go out of their way to make your visit a pleasant one! I was fully satisfied that my move here would be a good one. The only minor complaint was that the food (as is true in most larger facilities) was okay, but not outstanding.
The first part of my Aunt’s stay here seemed to be problem after problem. It’s like I had to remind the staff to do certain things like empty the trash or bathing her. I was going to move my Aunt but when I spoke with the director she asked for me to give them another chance. So far it seems to be going in a different direction. The staff members and residents here are nice. However, the nurses really aren’t doing what they are supposed to be doing. In my current situation, I would not recommend this facility to other families.
[Removed] Sale Manager was very knowledgeable, the facility was very clean and facility offer a lot of accommodations such as: transportation, activities and occupational & physical therapy. Very pleased with the visit.
We toured this community for my mother's needs. The rooms were not what we wanted. The restroom did not have sinks. The staff was nice and the community was clean. The staff were nice and seem to be very attentive. They offer a nice menu. This community did not have the room that we wanted for my mom. We would recommend this community for other families to tour for the care of a loved one.
I have no complaints of how my tour went of this community. The staff where all very friendly and made sure to give my loved ones lots of great information on everything they had to offer. They had a nice floor plan with lots of great amenities available to all of the residents. It was just not the right fit in the end decision.
