Happy new home for me
I was a little nervous first deciding to move into an assisted living setting but this has truly changed my life. My family and I are so happy to have found my home. The staff here have been so caring and wonderful since I moved in just over 3 months ago.

Happy new home for me

Staff Need Training on Proper Incontinence Care
So far, the care is not as advertised and promised by them. The workers that come in for incontinence needs are often not trained and don't know how to correctly help my mom with this.

This has been a good experience for my loved one myself so far with Brookdale Meadow Springs. It has been a hard transition for my loved one going from independent living to having caregivers. The caregivers have helped my loved one understand why they're there to assist her. My loved one has dementia and I'm very impressed with the patience of the caregivers when my loved one gets confused. This is a community I would recommend to others for their loved ones.

My tour of Brookdale Meadow Springs
I toured Brookdale Meadow Springs and it was great! The facility was clean and all of the staff that I met were friendly. I will say, it definitely felt like more of just an Assisted Living facility. It didn't have as much of a 'homey' type feeling that some of the other facilities that I toured had.

Tour of Brookdale
We toured Brookdale Meadow Springs and they were very friendly. They showed us all of the rooms, the eating area, and the garden space in the back. It was a very nice tour.
I liked them better than the Richland location. The staff here seemed more outgoing, in terms of how they were dealing with the residents. If we had to choose between the two, we would have chose Brookdale Meadow Springs. My mom decided that she'd prefer to stay home with in home care.

Pleasant atmosphere
We chose this facility because it was recommended to us, the location to me is great, and the grounds are very pretty. The staff is very friendly and I do enjoy talking to them. no issues with the administrative staff [name removed] is always great with getting back to me promptly. My mom does have a cat so they are a pet friendly place. Her birthday was this week and they threw her a little party which I think was great, they even had a 2 man band that came in. There are a few things I feel that need to be addressed such as her medications so we are trying to get things figured out there. Overall it has been good and I would recommend to others looking depending on the level of care your loved one needs.

Hot mess
My father in law fell several times while he was here and none of the staff members would come to help him. I would only put someone here who is very high functioning and more independent, they are just too understaffed to deal with anyone who needs a lot of care. Overnight they only have 1 staff members for 90 residents. They did try to correct things but overall it was not a good experience.

I would recommend the community to others. The staff was very friendly. The administrative team was great at communicating with the family, and upbeat.

Not ideal at the moment
Before the pandemic everything was perfect and our loved one was having a good time. Now they have all new employees and they make promises that they cannot follow through with. Over Christmas we dropped things off for our loved one like a Christmas Tree, we asked if they could send us pictures of him so we knew he received our gifts. After three weeks of calling we only got one pictures. Also the nursing staff has been made aware that anytime something happens to our loved one regarding their health, they are to call us first. However, last week we got a call from the doctors office saying the nursing staff called and made an appointment for our loved one. When we call the community and spoke to the head nurse she had no idea what we were talk about.

My experience with Brookdale
Brookdale seemed to work out the best for our needs at the time that we were looking. It was good at the beginning, but we have not been super pleased just with everything that is going on now, I am not sure the value is there for the amount of money that we are paying.

Food, Showers, laundry and call button
It took me about one month to get used to how they ran things. I was misinformed about a lot of things prior to going there to live. The kitchen needed a lot of change. They printed out menu's but then when you would go to eat, they changed the menu. When it came to meat they served, it was usually very tough to eat and people with dentures had a very difficult time eating. Their fruit plate consisted of canned fruit like peaches or pears.
I needed a shower daily, which I was told would be no problem. But I soon found out, I would only get 2 showers a week.
Laundry was picked up once a week and when it was returned, it was not a surprise to get some of it returned with stains from a colored towel that had bled onto other clothes; or have socks that were lost.
Amd the most important thing was that many times while I was there when I would call for help I had to wait 1/2 hour or more. I was told someone would be there within 15 minutes. Very seldom did that happen.

She spent a lot of time with me and was willing to help and provide information above and beyond anything I’ve experienced so far! Her willingness to share financial guidance, other possibilities. Perfect!!
This place is so perfect for my Mom!! All the staff treat my Mom so awesome! They’re caring, kind, personable, always there for her.
She’s super happy there. She says everyone treats her like family. Everyone loves her there and she loves everyone!
It seems that the other residents living there feel the same way about where they’re living and with the staff.
My Mom has made a lot of lifelong friends not only with the other residents but with the staff as well.
You walk in to the place, it smells and feels inviting! It’s warm, friendly, homey atmosphere is not a facade. It’s genuine!
My Mom gets the care she needs but the independence she still craves!
I’m so grateful that we found Brookdale Meadow Springs for my Mom!
I huge thank you to [Name removed] and [Name removed]. These two ladies are incredible and I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done and what they’re doing in taking care of my Mom.

Could use better housekeeping
My Mom lives here currently and I feel like she’s getting real good treatment. The staff is very friendly and, if I have any questions, seems to be able to answer any questions. Everyone knows her by name and addresses her as such. There are plenty of activities available and the facility will take the residents out on excursions that they call “Joy Rides”. They also bring in entertainment in the dining room about once a week. The food is very good and there are usually 2 choices for each meal. The facility seems to be kept very clean and housekeeping is scheduled to clean her room once a week. From what I’ve seen, everything looks and smells fairly new. I would recommend them.
