The facility is outdated but still has a warm welcome feel to it. My biggest concern is really communicating your needs and how a facility can meet your needs. This facility "said yes" they could offer my Mom with all her cancer needs. We also knew this would be an added cost. At the end of the day, they could NOT help us. We still had to pay 10k, and my Mom never even moved in. False hopes and wishes. Hard life lessons.

Response from Brookdale Centre of New England
December 20, 2022Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your feedback will be shared with management.
Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was okay, the location was somewhat in a commercial/shopping area which we were not the biggest fan of and the residents did not really appear to be engaged in much activity. Now that might of not been Brookdale's fault, that could of just been the state of the residents, the staff we did meet with were very friendly.
My virtual tour at Brookdale Centre of New England was fine. The facility just wasn’t as visually appealing to me as the place I chose.

We toured Brookdale and it was very nice and the people were friendly. It was comfortable and clean but we decided to go with another facility.
Covid has made some things difficult. For instance, if you drop something off, you can't bring it in. And then it has to sit in the front foyer for a day, which I don't think is necessarily secure. There were a lot of extras we ended up having to pay for that we weren't aware of, like medical supplies and snacks. From what I know now, that's pretty standard. I just wish I would have know up front. The staff have been in touch with my brother and I regularly, although some communication could be a little better. They sent a Mother's Day email the other day, and it would have been nice to have more than three days advance notice that they were going to allow family in to the rooms to visit. But again, I know everything changes so quickly with Covid. I've had nothing but good interactions with the staff. When we contact them with questions or concerns, they've been great. My loved one likes the drink cart. I'm not sure how often they bring it by, but she seems happy every time she tells me about it. The only thing I worry about with my loved one is that she puts on a good show, even when she's not doing well mentally, and I'm not entirely sure they see through that. This has been a tough transition for her. This is what has been difficult with Covid and not being able to go inside to visit. There are things we see that they don't because we know her well. But I'm sure that would be the case anywhere.
Everything was good. for us It was what we had hoped for. Overall our loved one enjoyed the food. The food could be late or cold due to the food being delivered due to the pandemic.

I would recommend the community if you have the money. The stand out is the staff who seem to really care. The communication is great and they are always calling with updates on my loved one. My loved one has more food than he knows what to do with. He is able to pick what he wants and send the rest back.

We chose this facility at the time because when we went in here they were very friendly and it seemed like it would be a good fit. The room sizes here are pretty good, he started out in a double and then moved to a private. The only reason we left was because they do not have overnight nurses and he needed that care. They were all very good to him and I would recommend to others.

I feel this community is understaffed currently. I would recommend the community to others. The head nurses were always very nice to our family and loved one. The room was nice. There was a full bathroom, and kitchenette included.

Due to COVID we were not been able to interact with our loved ones. When we did see our loved ones sometimes our fathers clothes would be filthy, and our mother looked like she needed to be bathed. We do think the activities were good, and it appeared very nice and was beautiful place. One other thing that was difficult was the communication, we would leave messages and they would sometimes never call back.

Prior to COVID it was a great place. I would recommend this community to anyone. The assisted living since COVID, it is tough on the residents due to to the lock down. The community is allowing visits in a room for 30 minutes.

Our experience has been good, as a matter of fact, we have told friends that. I've not a problem with them. If my mother-in-law gets back to ambulatory then I would put her back in there. The activities included day trips which I thought was a good thing to get them out of the community. I saw them doing exercises, bingo, music, and crafts. They had everything you can think of. My mother-in-law was in the memory care, so I'm not sure what other activities were offered.

When we first went there to visit, they presented an array of food, as well as presented a large variety of different food options.. But when she moved didn't see any of that. At first the place appeared beauty, but figured out once we moved it that it wasn't. We would call numerous times with multiple concerns, and never received any phone calls back.

Activities they provided before COVID were bingo, exercising, movie nights, wine nights, They would go on trips and sight see, as well as shopping. They would get their nails done, and do arts and crafts. The upstairs had pool tables.. The food was been good for the most part. My mom has a large living room, kitchen area, and walk in closet. The staff was very friendly which stood out to us most.
