I am very happy with Atria and my loved one loves it here. The staff communication with the family is great. It's hard for me to not be involved in everything because they schedule appointments, but it is also refreshing. She loves the meals and she does participate in crafts.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a really good tour experience, we were able to meet with different staff and the residents. We were even able to eat lunch there.
Our loved ones biggest complaint would have to be with the meals - according to her now she is dealing with dementia so we are not sure how much of this is true, but she says by the time she gets down to the dining hall most of the hot meals are gone and what is left is just cold sandwiches. She is still adjusting to things but the staff member's have been incredibly and they can easily look at a situation and come back to us with different recommendations

The community doesn't care about the things being the most updated and current. The décor, the staff are stuck in the 80's or 90's. There are some staff that go above and beyond, and other staff members make it harder than it needs to be. The amount of lockdowns in the community that is happening is not good, I do realize that some of this might be because of the state regulation. Why can I take my loved one out to dinner, but I can't enjoy a meal with my loved one in the dining room? Especially because my loved one would much rather stay in the community than go out. [name removed] is great, but I wish another staff member would quit. Everyone at the front desk is amazing and awesome!

My tour experience was just ok. It may have changed since I went to look there, but when I was looking it needed a lot of improvements and updates.

This is a good place, and the staff is friendly. The staff tend to look after for your loved one. My loved one has been well taken care of. There are activities available for the residents. There is a large tv for the residents to watch, puzzles, music, games, and more for the residents to choose from. There is also a library and an activities room. A gardening club is another option as well for activities. This is overall a very good place. We have been pleased with our experience. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They really try to help with whatever problem you might have. Any concerns they address immediately. All in all they do a really great job. Overall the facility is clean and well kept up, including the outdoors and exterior. One area for improvement is the on-site doctor visits. It took way too long for the doctor to see my mom after she first moved in. But I've met the doctor, and she is a very nice woman who seemed very concerned about my mom's health. She is knowledgeable and took her time to explain things to me. I just think they might need a second doctor. She sees so many people it's difficult to keep up with all of them.

We chose Atria Penfield because [name removed], the sales manager, was awesome and she helped me learn a lot very quickly. They were also one of the few facilities that had fully furnished apartments and we needed to move my mom immediately. I would recommend this facility 100% without a doubt.

We chose Atria Penfield because it did not look like a nursing home. He also needed rehab and he was able to get his own private room that looked like a little apartment. It was such a unbelievably nice place. The staff are very upfront and honest with any questions you ask. It has a very homey feeling to it and the food is amazing. All around it was a great experience.

With 25 years of caring for seniors and in multiple settings I can honestly say that there simply isn't a more caring staff! The Value this community offers the residents and their families is above and beyond. Imagine a life where the stress is eliminated, meeting new friends, 24/7 care team available when needed. The residents are still in control and the staff is there to help support their individual needs. Easy to navigate and everything is done to provide choice, and social opportunity. The furnishings can be provided for no extra cost. Families have always shared how this experience has given them their peace of mind, and their relationships back with their loved ones because they are no longer having to provide all the support and can go back to being their son or daughter. Partnering with the families for the very best care possible in a community setting.

My mother had excellent care here and it was ll top of the line. The staff could not do no enough for my mother. My mother loved the food and she thought it was great. Anything she wanted she got. She never had any complaints or anything. They also had activities like bingo, exercise and other things in the community.

This was a better place and community it was just too far for my personal preference to where I wanted my loved one to be. I wanted to be able to get to my loved ones faster.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
There is a lack of respect for elderly people at Atria Penfield. I didn't see any aids in the hallway caring for people, the only people I saw were staff with the medicine carts. I ended up moving out because of this reason. I would not recommend to others looking.

We were told that after a certain amount of time of our loved one being there that they would qualify for the VA benefits. However that was not the case and we ended up having to pull our loved one out.

The meals are good, I wish the quality of the food could be better for the residents. There are alternative meal options for the residents. The community will start to do more tours in the bus with limited seating to keep the residents safe. It would be nice if the community had a complete sidewalk around the entire building, and additional shady areas for the residents.

The sales director had a very no-pressure approach and didn't overpromise. She really dealt the cards out straight regarding cost. You paid for it for sure, but they had staff available at all times to check on the residents and make sure they have what they need. They wanted my loved one to come in to be evaluated to see what she needed, which I though was really good. I liked that they had a multi-step process for admitting residents rather than just trying to sell her an apartment. I felt like I had a really good relationship with them. The timing of it just didn't work out because I needed to move my loved one quickly from a different community.
