The best years of my mom's life
My mother lived at Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale for 7 years before her passing. My mom was well cared for. All the staff took a personal interest in her. They always talked to her and encouraged her to participate in daily activities. The building was clean every time I came for a visit. The nursing staff did a great job of coordinating her medial care from daily medications, doctor visits, lab test, x-rays, and physical therapy in house. The best part is at Thanksgiving and Christmas the entire staff welcomed the families of the residents in for a special holiday meal. That made me feel like part of the community.

Our family had an in person tour and from everything we have seen and all the staff we met with, it was an great tour experience , but we felt our loved one moving into a smaller community would be a better fit and that was the deciding factor.

A great place for mom, dad, wife, husband, brother or sister!
When you come to Alden, you are greeted by the smiling face of [name removed], then met with [name removed] who explains what apartments we have here. [name removed] handles all financial questions.
We have the finest nurses and CNAs under the direction of [name removed]. [name removed] who takes care of all work orders. [name removed] and staff do a great job with the activities here. [name removed] does an excellent job in menu planning. He and his staff do a wonderful job. [name removed] is our Director. She, with the help from all of those named above, have kept us healthy and safe.
I recently fell near the lobby. As I laid there, I saw [name removed] & 3 CNAs come to my aid. They got a belt and put it around me and told me to put my feet forward. They pulled me up & gave me my cane.
I am very thankful to all who helped me. I think that God was showing me and my family what a great place I’m living at!
Take it from me, there is no better place than Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale.

My tour review
I liked this community very well. This was actually my first choice but they did not have the availability right away like we needed. It was a little smaller and dated but the feeling was nice. Some of the rooms were bigger and that was nice also compared to other communities. This community was also a lot more diversified and the tour guide had been there for 14 years and was amazing.

Enjoying Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale
What is Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale?
It is located at 285 East Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale, IL 60108.
When you first enter the building, there is a smiling face greeting you, [name removed]: “Hi, may I help you?” She will steer you to [name removed], [name removed] or [name removed] to help you. These individuals are very knowledgeable about this location. This five-story building is very clean. When walking the hall, you will see railings on both sides, in order to help us stay up. They really help. [Name removed] heads up the maintenance department. Just remember to fill out a work order form at the front desk and he will always get to you to help you with your problems.
The nursing staff consists of four outstanding RNs under the guidance of [name removed]. They are there when we fall in the hall, in the lunchroom or apartment. They also answer questions we may have about our medications. All of the CNAs are great with helping with walkers, wheel chairs and giving our medications. Some of us need assistance with personal grooming, bathing and dressing. There is also Home Health Agency located on the first floor. Nurse [name removed] and two therapists, one physical and occupational, have helped many residents with their rehab.
[Name removed] heads up the lunchroom staff. The menus show good planning. We have so much to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There re no assigned seats and most of the residents are very courteous.
[Name removed] has her hands full for heading up the activities. Just think: how would you like to try keeping close to ninety (90) residents busy, enjoying the days when it’s raining or snowing outside? She does a wonderful job with her staff.
We have snacks for the residents that can be picked up at the front desk. Plus, there is a hospitality cart every Friday that goes to every floor.
A beauty shop is located on the first floor and is for both men and women. You can check for time scheduled at the front desk.
The trash room has bins for recyclable items and to throw the trash down the shoot.
We have laundry rooms on the 2nd through 5th floors.
These are a few of the remarkable thing that make us enjoy our stay at Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale.

Mom’s apartment is perfect for her needs. The common areas are clean, well lit and welcoming. Mom is visited weekly and the building is consistently well-kept. A common sight at Alden is to find groups of people gathered in one of the common rooms, chatting and laughing. Mom loves the activities and participates frequently.
Our family visited many different facilities in the area. We are happy with our decision to place Mom in Alden. Thank you, Alden, for the peace of mind!

bright, people friendly areas
love the bright people friendly sitting areas on the first floor, the openness of the dining room watching the outside while at the right temperature inside. Friendly staff, ready to assist. That was my first impression of Alden Gardens. And i have been here one and a half years, and my first impressions were right on. Now i play cards, bingo or crafts in the bright rooms, or just stop to chat. Before retiring to my cozy apartment.

GOOD PLACE TO LIVE
My first impression with Alden Garden was the well appointed and cozy inviting side rooms. reminding me of sitting rooms at a fine hotel. and the light bright windowed dining room, bringing the outside in, while dining.
That was a year and a half ago, and now i sit in the cozy rooms play cards, bingo, or Jeopardy etc. and enjoy the scenery of a snowy day outside while sitting comfortable inside.
I give Alden Gardens five stars.

Similar to a Nursing Home
Wasn't impressed by them. Sunrise was nicer. They concerned me because it was so close to Lake Street which is the main thoroughfare. It didn't have the elegance that Sunrise had. But it was good, it was nice, it just felt like a couple steps up from a nursing home, for an assisted living community.
