Roy Pfeil Sr.
Branch: Army
Rank: Technician Fifth Grade
War or Conflict: World War II
Years of Service: 2
My dad received a Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, and the European, African, Middle Eastern Medal. He was Honorably Discharged. He owned and operated his own trucking business for most of his life. He had blue eyes, brown hair, stood over 6 feet tall, wore a size 16 shoe, and had hands that were as big as baseball gloves. He was a gentle giant in every sense of the word. He married his sweetheart Dorothy, who he had met before going to war. In fact, she was only eight when they first met but obviously they didn't marry until 18 years later. They had three children, Roy Jr., Jackie, and Janice.
