He spent 4 months in Navy OCS, 4 months in Civil Engineer Corps Officers School in Port Hueneme, Ca and 364 days in Vietnam for a total of just over 20 months. He received an early out following Vietnam because they did not have enough billets to place men after a war zone assignment.
