Jose, joined the Active Army as a Private on 8 August 1971 as Aircraft Supply Specialist Logistics. During more than 41 years of active and reserve service, he has served at all echelons from tactical to strategic, with duty in CONUS/OCONUS operations and became the 1st native Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO) for the 1st MSC, United States Army Reserve Ft Buchanan Puerto Rico, 28 December 2008 - 2012. As the CCWO, he represented and advised the 1st MSC, Commanding General, U.S. Army Reserve Ft Buchanan, Puerto Rico on matters pertaining to training and education, career management, leader development and warrior transition issues for warrant officers within the Army Reserve Command. He was also responsible for coordinating policy and statutory changes to support the advancement of initiatives for the Warrant Officer Corps. He also supported all logistics for the command by coordinating policy and statutory changes as the Senior Logistic advisor to the Commanding General. His military decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal and others.
