Captain Partridge served our country in WW11, flying over 76 missions. He flew a B-26 Marauder. He crashed landed in the English Channel three times and many times flew his B-26 in so damaged the ground crew wondered how it even flew.
Despite being exempt from further combat, he volunteered to go to Korea, flying an F-51 D Mustang. On his 13th mission, Captain Partridge was hit by anti-aircraft fire while strafing an enemy supply truck. He crashed just inside enemy lines. His remains have never been recovered.
Among others Capt. Partridge received The Distinguished Flying Cross, with one bronze Oak Leaf Cluster; The Air Medal with four bronze and one silver Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
