Dallas Leonard Badger
Dallas Leonard Badger
Branch: Army
War or Conflict: World War II
Years of Service: 2
While Dallas was fighting in the Philippine Islands his brother (my Dad) was fighting in Germany.
Dallas was killed by a sniper in the Philippine Islands.
Because so many were killed, Dallas was buried in a grave there in the Philippines and almost 5 years later, upon the request of his parents, his body was return to the USA for burial in Adair Co. Kentucky.
Exactly 20 years later after Dallas' death(12/7/1944) his mother, Callie Melvina Price Badger, passed away on 12/7/1964. Her son, my Dad, said his Mom never got over the death of her oldest son.
Another son of grandma's, Delmer "Denk" Badger, was getting ready to go overseas during the war as well but it came to an end or she would have had 3 out of 4 sons in the war.
