First Lt. James D. Stenbach, pilot of a Ninth Air Force Marauder, previously reported missing, was killed in action when his plane was shot down over the North Sea north of Holland Feb. 25, 1944. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Steinback, and 1846 Norfolk, were informed. Steinbach had been awarded the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters.
