This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include giving injections, opening medication containers for residents, and staff may supervise self-administration of medications if a licensed health care professionall determines that a resident is capable of self administration. . This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include Therapeutic or modified diets must be prepared according to a physician s or dietician s orders., staff training must include the topic of nutrition., The residence must accommodate residents who are unable to eat at planned mealtimes and provide for meal substitution if the resident does not tolerate or like the food provided, and they must provide three meals a day, snacks, and and provisions for special diets. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include or use of equipment, help in following planned diets, personal assistance, and activity regimens. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. The maximum occupancy is 2 residents per room. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as each resident must receive a functional needs assessment completed in writing by a physician or other licensed health care professionall, staffing patterns, activities that have been successful in addressing the behaviors in the past, and effective behavioral management techniques.
