An assisted living community is a residential living community which administers care, aid, and support to independent individuals who do not need skilled nursing care. Assisted living communities commonly offer aid with appointments and transportation, opportunities for organized activity, and care supervision. In certain cases, communities may provide respite, hospice, or nursing. In Indiana, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around 49,200.
