Assisted living communities arrange residential living communities and assistance to people who need support with everyday activities such as bathing or dressing. Assisted living communities often offer outings for recreational activity, assistance with the activities of daily life, and supervision of care. In some cases, communities may offer hospice, continuing care, or respite. In Illinois, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $50,040 . This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide three daily meals. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include housekeeping, medication administration, assistance with activities of daily living, and medication reminders. Staff members receive education in a number of areas. These areas include confidentiality, independence, abuse, and self-determination. There must be one bath or shower for every residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. The maximum occupancy is 1 residents per room. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 3. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include supervision of self-administered medications, medication reminders, and medication administration.
