Dad Seems Happy??

My Dad moved to The Landings on November 7. We started moving him in November 6 and visited several times before to measure for furniture and such. He moved from a farm less than 15 minutes away. I was happy when staff came up to him while he was moving in, asked if he was sleeping there yet, did he need any help, etc. Just very aware of residents and what they might need. My husband and I spent a lot of time at The Landings and had several meals. Food was good and dining room staff very in tune with residents—offering different foods, different portion size, things like that. Laundry says wash and fold. Dad’s clothes came back on hangers, as he likes them. He hadn’t talked to anyone—they saw his closet and just knew. The only thing I see coming up in the future is the billing and dealing with long term care insurance. I don’t think the facility provides assistance in that area. Overall, really pleased and hoping to say the same for many years to come.... Read more

Experience at The Landings

Our loved one was previously a resident at The Landings at Reed Station Crossing. This facility was great, it just wasn't the right fit for our loved one. The Assisted Living side was fantastic! The Memory Care unit was less than impressive, as far as their accommodations. We would have loved to have been able to keep our loved one on the Assisted Living side and they tried. However, my loved one's needs were progressing to Memory Care.

Nice Community with room For improvement

The cleanliness needs improved in the hallways, they don't always show up to clean the room. I think they are working on it. Food is not very consistent. I've been overall disappointed with the freshness and not providing more tasteful, balanced meals. I would say we like the location and overall the newer building not having a "nursing home" feel.

I enjoy the apartment size and storage space, c; cleanliness and the knowing I can get help quickly if I need it. There are varied activites and residents enjoy. Lovely outdoor space to rock, swing, visit and park car ( if you drive) and walk areas.

Top Notch

There's no other place around like The Landings. It's a beautiful building and so much to offer; from a salon, spa, theatre, workout room, garden, pond, and lots of sitting areas and activites.

The good and bad of living at The Landings

We are very happy with our apartment. I had room for us to bring many of our family treasures. Also, storage is adequate. We have been here three years and have many friends among the residents. One outstanding problem has recently developed. They have gone to a standardized food menu. The menu is standardized and repeated on a five week repeat. It is overloaded with starch. It's over money at cost of taste.

My husband and I have been here for four months. I do most of the care for my husband. He is the one who needs the assistance, but mainly her gets a bath and occasionally he gets help. We do get laundry and trash pickup (occasionally we do it) the staff does what it can to help but then people need more attention.

What sticks out most about The Landings at Reed Station Crossing is the way the staff treats the residents, they treat them like they are family. The main reason I chose this facility was because they also offer memory care - so if she needs that in the future she just has to change rooms and wouldn't have to move facilities. I would recommend this community to others.

I picked this community because, it was close to family. They have friendly helpful staff, but the food service has been a hit and miss. To the point the residents have formed a committee to provide feedback on the menus.

Landings - memory care

For the most part we, [name removed] family, have been more than satisfied with her care. There are times when staff appears short handed and care is less than satisfactory. The area of concern for us is the care on the weekends. Just the simple task of washing the food off her face, clothes and wheelchair is lacking at times. We understand her behavior is difficult at times and we appreciate all each of you do for her. I do wish she could participate in more activities but I recognize she usually isn’t interested.

Great staff and really nice place.

The staff are usually great and I'm sure not appreciated enough for all they do. Sometimes there is not enough staff though. There are several events offered, but some residents seem to get left out. The food has a good variety, but is questionable at times. Rolls or bread should be offered with most lunches and dinner's. Overall, it is a great place, just a few things that need adjusted.
