The biggest issue I had was the amount of turnover in these types of places. I had no idea that the turnover was that great, from the director down to the worker bees. Because of the turnover, you really don't get to know them as well as you would like. There have been some exceptional ones, and there have been some that say they usually work at night and are just filling in because so and so quit. So you don't have the relationship you would have with them otherwise. And that's important. They're taking care of your loved one. In general, it's not a bad place. It just bothers me the amount of turnover they have. In general, they do do their jobs. I don't see a whole lot of extra. I would have liked to see more of a passion in that type of work. I know I personally couldn't do it. It's a tough job. Compared to what I've seen at other facilities, they do a good job keeping it clean. It didn't smell like other places I've been. But it's still not quite up to the standard I would think it should be.

My mother-in-law has been in Manning Place for several years. Our experience with her was so fantastic that I put my father in, as well. Every time I visit, my father says how lucky he feels to be there. He is nearly deaf, and struggles with his hearing aids, but they help him so patiently even when he's grumpy with them. The food is great, and the chef is very accommodating of the patients' individual tastes. Unlike many other places, we have never encountered a bad smell, or anyone being neglected, at Manning Place. The costs for our parents, in their single rooms, is really very reasonable. The folks there enjoy having our parents there, and that means a lot. I appreciated that they erred on the side of caution with Covid. All the nurses and staff are all great. There are so many places that are just parking lots for other people. Manning Place is not one of them. I really, very highly recommend them. Your loved one will be safe and happy under their care.

If your family member has dementia, you probably need to go ahead and go to a facility that's designed for dementia care. My only concern here was they indicated they could care for our loved one with dementia. But once she moved in, she kept "eloping," and they told us we needed to move her. So I feel like they misrepresented their abilities. But the rest of the care they provided was good. My loved one enjoyed the food there. We were happy with everything except for their ability to keep our loved one with dementia safely there.

Please visit and see the difference of not so good experiences compared to great living. I went to a lot of communities and none were like this. When you walk in the staff always welcome you and you would never know you were in assisted living. My loved one has gained weight because she is eating again. Admin keeps in touch, they give us updates all the time. They treat us like family, you can text them and they will respond with whatever you need. Every staff member is openly ready to communicate. They have a lot of activities to participate in and they try to include everyone. They have field trips and my loved one is doing good here and I feel real safe.
