Newer facility, lots of options for apartments. Was a little on the high side for us, but comparable to other places. Lots of common areas for walking around inside.

Absolutely the best place to live!

Our experience has been good so far but sometimes the meals can be a little bit of a hit or miss.

Our first impression of The Homestead is that it is a very nice community and has a homey feeling to it. The memory care side is very safe, and we would most certainly recommend this community to others. It is also in a convenient location

Everything looks clean and fresh when you go visit. The weekend staff is very friendly. The only complaint I hear is about the food.

I have felt very comfortable leaving my mother at the Homestead. The staff are very caring and friendly. The facility has always been clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

My mom moved to The Homestead in October of 2017 from an assisted living facility where she had entered hospice care the previous July. I almost didn't even consider this long term care facility due to a few bad reviews. However, someone said to me, "people are more likely to actually write a bad review from one isolated incident than to write a good review even though their experience may have been beyond their expectations." As it turns out, he was right! I scheduled a tour and was extremely pleased with the amenities, layout, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff and overall updated feel of the building. My mom's surroundings were very important to her. There are many over sized windows, large rooms (most of them are private), gathering areas with comfortable and stylish furniture, wide hallways, a secure building, activities everyday, and light and bright meal areas. Definitely, not your typical "nursing home." When my mom moved there she actually "perked up" due to the attentive staff and having all of her needs met in a timely manner. The staff was warm and caring. My mom passed away just 2 months after moving there but I must say, she really enjoyed living there. Even though the decision to move my mom to a long term care facility was hard, I am so happy I did and The Homestead at Anoka was the right choice. Thank you to all of the staff!

My mother in law enjoyed her respite stay at this community. The staff are pretty awesome. They are patient and worked well with her. She is able to have her hair done and they offer daily activities. The community is very nice and clean. The food is amazing. I would recommend this community.

The housekeeping staff do a good job of keeping the community and my room clean. The food is good but I don't think the serving size is enough for me. I have been able to keep my dog with me. I am not one to participate in a lot of the activities but they do offer a variety and there are also outings available.

The staff at The Homestead at Maplewood is amazing and very friendly. They have all been there for a long time and are wonderful people. The carpeting needs to be replaced, it smells bad. Other than that, they keep the place very clean,. They take a lot of pride in the building. I would absolutely recommend this facility to family and friends. My mother in law loves it there!

We have had an overall good experience so far at The Homestead at Anoka. My mother enjoys the many activities that they have on site. Today an old car show in the parking lot and Elvis music at 2:00, then Bingo at 6:30. I can't comment on the food, as I bring my mother frozen homemade meals. My mother is doing more there socially than she did at home. I would recommend The Homestead at Anoka to family and friends.

Elder Homestead was affordable but was on the older side (first AL facility in MN I think they said).

The social director has been extremely helpful. I think the nurse that is in there now has been helpful as well. My loved one said the food is fabulous. I know that they are short on staff, but everyone is. They lack a receptionist which can be problematic when you are trying to call. otherwise it has been a good experience and we would recommend them depending on your wants and needs. The facility is not brand new or luxurious, but for the value for the money is there.

We really like all of the staff members there we have enjoyed working closely with them. However they could work to improve on the meals and dining service, that has not been so great. The quality of the meals are pretty mediocre we end up bringing our loved one food a lot. Based on the experience we have had so far with Elder Homestead we would absolutely recommend them to other families.

I would tell others that they need to really check on the meal programs. The meals come from an outside source and the wait staff sometimes are not very good for this environment of people. The food is not very food and that was one of the things that we were sold on. There are a few things they need improvements on but overall we have been very happy with The Homestead at Rochester.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour but just not going to be the best fit

More assisted living and we needed more memory care support.

I would say to go for it with this community. They have activities that they try to make happen for the residents to still have things to do even with covid.

We chose The Homestead for my mother in law because it was clean, the staff were professional, and it has tall ceilings with modern décor and beautiful grounds. They also provide different levels of care so if she progresses she would not have to move. I would recommend to others looking.

The apartments are spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful.
