Silverado Senior Living

Silverado is an amazing memory care facility. On each floor is a small community of residence who suffer from dementia or other memory impairment at various levels of these cruel diseases. The staff creates such a lovely family environment. Each member from administration, nurses, caregivers, food and laundry service to reception know each resident by name and know how to connect with them. In my father's case, it is not an easy task because he suffers from Lewybody dementia, (a form or Parkinson's and Dementia) but somehow they manage to make him laugh and smile. The staff is warm, respectful, kind and loving with the residents even when they are unaware that you’re watching. They are happy and caring by nature. I do not have the skills necessary to properly care for my father. Silverado provides the "loving family" environment and well-trained staff that my brothers and I cannot. They encourage family visits. Family members are always welcome at any hour. Meals with your loved one are complimentary. The staff is very communicative. Questions and phone calls are promptly return and staff is always available. We wanted to give my father the same safe lovely environment he and my mother gave us growing up. We found it in Silverado.

Wonderful place with outstanding loving care. While Silverado Is not one of the newer places in town, it proved to be the best place for my Mom. My Mom just passed away this spring and was at Silverado for almost 3 years. She had no serious illness other than dementia & memory loss and sadly lost the ability to walk - even though she always thought she could. My Mom was a bit difficult to handle at times, but the entire Silverado staff was able to manage her so very well. She was their Jersey girl, with a bit of a Jersey attitude; but she left this world a happy person, and I have Silverado & their staff to thank for that. When my Mom first needed to go into a care facility, my husband & I visited Silverado and decided to place my Mom somewhere else. After three months, and it wasn’t working out, I took her to Silverado, and it’s the best move I was able to make. When you watch the staff there at work, it’s amazing that they’re able to keep everything in such good clean order, with all the residents also being very well attended to. There are a lot of special needs people there, and they seem to be able to handle it all. So - If you don’t need a new, fancy place for your loved one to live, but you’re looking good loving care, Silverado is the place.

I toured at Silverado for my loved one, and have heard so many great things about the community from others who have loved ones there as well. It's a great community. The staff is wonderful, and the place is clean and well maintained. I would absolutely recommend it to others if it is within their budget.

My husband had been at Silverado Escondido for day care so I was familiar with their community and it is set-up well for Alzheimers/dementia care. But I felt that when it came time to find a place for my husband that it was just too busy an atmosphere for him and he would have trouble adjusting and just be too confusing. It was a nice experience, but it wasn't the right fit for my husband.

My father has recently moved into this community and we have no complaints of how things are going for him. The staff are all lovely and I am comfortable with the care he has been receiving. He has had no problems with the meals and he has been provided and enjoys the activities he is able too throughout the week. The thing I am most impressed with would have to be the security of the building. I have a peace of mind that my dad is in good hands and is safe in his new living environment.

Transitioned my mother from living independently to memory care at Silverado Berkeley. It was a tough move - even though Mom is definitely not able to take care of herself and was deteriorating rapidly while on her own, she really fought being placed in an "old folks home". After the first week, however, it was clear that the environment at Silverado Berkeley - especially the staff and residents - were just what she needed. The difference in her responses and levels of agitation are marked - dementia, of course, can't be cured but the symptoms were greatly eased for her. The facility is quite expensive, but the physical, mental and emotional care given are worth it. I appreciate that they are not just supportive of my mom, but also of me as mom's primary caregiver/responsible party. I'm relieved to have mom in a place that's helping her to maintain the level of independence she still has for as long as she can, while keeping her in a safe, active and pleasant environment. BTW - mom loves the food here - she comments on it every time I visit, and is always trying to get me to eat there.

Mom was only at this community for a short time before she passed away. The caregivers are extremely professional and caring. They have such a natural routine for memory care. We could not have asked for better hospice nurses. One of the nurses even stayed with us when she passed away. We were able to stay in a room next door and they did not charge us for food. They welcomed dad and their service dog with open arms. I know she was safe we would use this community again.

Silverado is a beautiful home. It is always clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and attentive to the residents. The activities are fun and the residents really seem to enjoy them. The level of care is excellent.

They have taken good care of him so far. My grandpa seems to like the place. The staff is friendly and he likes the other residents. My parents are pleased with the level of care that they have provided so far.

Everything has been great so far. Every time we go it's a good experience. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I don't have any concern over food or activities. It's still pretty new to us, but so far it's going well.

I know my Mom is in a safe place with some extremely caring and knowledgeable caregivers watching over her.

We like the smaller size of The Berkshire, the main part of the community is based all on the ground floor which is also nice. Staff and nurses are great, good communication, and we've felt secure having our dad there.

I first spoke to and met Monuca. A sweet caring woman who understood our family needed time to adjust and having a month to settle in before the commitment is a wonderful thing to have. Meeting Linda, Janet and all the caretakers has been a blessing too. Everyone is respectful of each individual there. A very caring environment.

I liked a lot of what I saw, it would have been my next choice.They have mostly dual rooms, and so there is a shared room. We were looking for something private. It was a little further away than the community I chose. I liked the activities going on, but it almost seems a little chaotic at times. They seem to be very good with people with behavior issues. Everyone was very friendly, and it was clean. It was a very nice place.

We have high praise for all the staff at Silverado. They know the residents names and know how to meet individual needs. The nursing staff has been very responsive in giving us feedback about our mom. The environment is relaxed and peaceful which is so important for these seniors. The atmosphere is so friendly we love to come and visit.

My wife, Patricia, is type 1 diabetic and suffers from dementia/alzheimers. She needs help with nearly all functions. I take her over to Silverado around 10:00 AM each weekday morning and pick her up at 4:30 PM. I have found the staff at Silverado is very friendly and eager to help their guests. The place is always clean, has a lot of activities and the nurse always greets me when I drop Pat off. I have eaten there on two occasions and both were pleasant experiences. The food was delicious and prepared properly. I believe Pat really enjoys herself there and enjoys the company and stimulation of activities. The place impresses me as being well managed.

Liked very much. It seemed nice with good activities, but the Belmont was a little closer. Silverado was definitely equipped to handle dementia, but overall the services seemed a little less comprehensive.

It's so hard to keep those floors clean with the patients that they have there. I'm impressed with the care. The day to day staff is a little...it depends upon the person. What I'm most pleased with is they seem to talk to each other. There is good communication between people. The nurse on the first floor should be cloned. She's absolutely amazing! The second floor nurses are very fine too, so it the reception staff. Overall I'm pleased and relieved.
