My review of Allegria at The Oaks

Better tasting meals would be nice. It's under new ownership now, so that's an unknown.

Overall, A Great Place to Go

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The communication with the staff was really good if we had questions or concerns about our friend. My friend had made some complaints about the food not being to their liking and didn't elaborate any further than that.

Good community. They didn't have availability for a private room.

Great Value for the Care Provided

I've had very good communication with Allegria. Their team has kept me updated on everything that's going on with my famly member. Whenever I go in, it always looks really clean. Initially we had some issues with the care, although they did get that resolved pretty quickly. And ultimately she seems happy there and is setting in pretty quickly. We've been very pleased with how reasonably priced they are for the good care they provide.

Stress Free

Can’t really answer the questions cause we haven’t stayed here long enough even though we moved in mid July. We travel a lot and are only here at the village 4 1/2 months a year. I had surgery a couple of weeks ago and have not been able to do much of anything yet. I know they have lots of things to do here but can’t seem to stay long enough to enjoy it. Not sorry we moved here. Love the freedom and we are not stressed out like we were in our house.

Nice floor plan - community well cared for and lots of activities - much better suited for dad. Would take most of his income to lease but everything is included so he would have less monthly expenses. If we paid off his car he would have 500 mo spending cash. Food plan is not as good as others as they only allow for one meal a day but offer several cafes and restaurants that offer meals for purchase for $4-$6 which is okay as dad never eats 3 times a day anyway.

Only 4 days experience

My dad was there for only four nights. And he had a week at hospital and then 12 days at hospice and he passed on [date removed]. We were excited that my dad would be living there. Sadly it was short-lived.

A Good Find!

I was responsible for finding a residence for two people and the Oaks of Bensalem was an absolutely perfect place. One was placed in the memory care unit and the other in the assisted living area. The staff is very committed to providing excellent care for the residents. Both levels have access to the outdoors to enjoy the fresh air. This community is very clean smelling and the environment is very warm and inviting. There is an abundance of different types of activities to participate in, they definitely keep the residents busy. The food is very good, they serve ample servings, no one goes away hungry! They do offer transportation for outside excursions for the residents. I would definitely recommend this community to friends and family. And a big thank you to A Place For Mom for providing options and help in finding a place for the people I care for.

I am happy with the care from the staff. They keep the community clean in all areas and my mom's room is cleaned too. As for the meals I think she likes it. Overall she is pleased and I am happy so far, there is room for improvements.

So Far A Good Experience

So far everything is working out pretty well for my mother here at The Oaks. They have a good staff here, they are caring for my mother and her needs well. It is a nice looking community, they do a good job with the cleaning. There are activities offered for the residents. She is pleased with the meals, the food is nice. This is a community I would recommend, because they are providing my mother with good care.

The wooded setting with outside areas were very picturesque. Every staff member we saw interacted with all the residents as well as us. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere. While on our tour we were asked to stay and watch an exercise class taking place. They do a great job in getting the residents to attend the many activities going on. We were disappointed that this facility was just a little higher than Mom could afford. I am giving this facility 4 stars because of the price, but otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

A change of heart

The staff and employees were helpful and caring. They went out of their way to help not only the residents but also the visitors. I had been in other facilities and was very depressed at what I had previously seen, but Sierra Oaks did a good job changing my outlook. While I was not thrilled to have to place my husband at the facility, it was a relief to know he would be looked out for and taken care of, and they went out of their way to accomodate his special needs.

They do a pretty good job. I don't really have any complaints.

They do a pretty good job. I don't really have any complaints. I am happy with the variety of food, but it can take a little bit of time to be served. There are little mix-ups with the laundry but that is to be expected from what I understand. They are a pretty good value. It seemed friendlier and homier, a little cleaner than the others we saw. It was less like a hospital setting.

Everybody learned who she was right away, and that really impressed me.

I felt very comfortable talking with Patrick, he got back to me quickly when I called, he always gets right back to me, he is very responsive. Everybody learned who she was right away, and that really impressed me. It would be nice if there was some kind of Ambassador program, where maybe some of the residents that have been here a little while would take the newer ones under their wing. The meals always smell divine, and she only complains that she has too much food.

Only problem I have is I am located too far from friends& family. Beautiful community but the isolation is hard. My apartment is spacious. Food sub-par.

nice community with areas of improvement needed.

Difficult to get service for maintenance issues, apartment was not cleaned prior to move in. some meals are great, others not so much She was also in the skilled nursing facility after a hospital stay. The overall experience, the care services (aside from PT/OT was a 5 but persona bedside care was terrible), staff and activities would get a 2/5. The cleanliness, and friendliness would get a 3/5. The meals and dining and value for cost would receive a 1/5. There are areas of improvement with both the apartment side of [name removed]as well as the skilled nursing. She is happy in her apartment but they still have not addressed issues from move in and we have given up trying to get them to fix them. Based on the experience we had with skilled nursing, we would not recommend.

My tour of Allegria Village

I toured this facility. It was a good tour and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. However, the facility looked very dated and the upfront deposit was a deal breaker for us.
