Nice-sized rooms, landscaping around patios a bit sparse. The smaller facility size felt friendly and comfortable.

very good, except needs to be more secure

I do feel like there is some lack of security. They do not always get the doors locked up right away when they are supposed to. One night I walked in and was able to walk right into the facility and into my mothers room to get some things, and I noticed that anyone could have walked in and done the same. Other than that everything has been very good. The food is amazing. The people are all super friendly. And they were very good to my mother.

Nice looking place, not the best fit for us

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I thought Heritage Park Village seemed like a very nice place overall! It had a nice environment and the staff seemed very friendly. However, I don't think it would have been the best fit for us carewise, my loved one has memory issues and this community was more focused on assisted living.

Beautiful, but a little big, and a little expensive.

This was one of the communities that we considered when we were looking into options. It was a really nice place, and the staff was friendly. It was a little too expensive, and just a little too big, for what we needed.

Love the small number of residents and the personalized care. Focus on creating a 'home' atmosphere is great. Only concern is the public space being too small. The living room has just a couple of sofas, the dining room just four tables. Would she enjoy the interaction ALL the time and if not, only retreat would be her room. The only room available is decent, not the greatest view (of the front door and parking lot).

Our mother is here right now. She only wants to sit in her room and sleep and will not take part in any activities. She cries if she leaves the room. We need to find a cheaper place if she will not take part in the activities, which she is not doing at all! We have had problems with her being bathed and her clothes and hair being washed, and her bed being changed (we change it). She complains incessantly about there being only 'freaks' there.

This community was nice.

This community was nice. I did not see very many people around due to newer wings in the building. They had good types of care services as well. I don't remember much else about the tour so it's hard to rate them.

Good location, a welcoming community with room for improvement.

Overall for the experience 3.5. I'm disappointed that for the Level Care charge of [fee removed] that dad is getting the assistance for dressing himself daily and trying to persuade him to try activities and not simply accepting his refusal! I would like to hear when he refuses that the available aides will probe or ask why and explain the importance or "rules" of being clean, doing some activities and trying to have a little fun and not just sitting alone in his room watching tv or constantly napping!

Needs improvement

Communication with staff was a problem. Many times I was given conflicting information and neither the director nor the nurse were available to consult. There was also a definite lack of communication between staff. Repairs such as a broken toilet paper holder took forever despite reminders. I wondered if they thoroughly cleaned the rug in my loved ones room since it smelled like dog.

Trouble with meals. Portions are too small and there are not enough alternative foods for diabetics. Also trash is not picked up daily as promised. Maintenance has been slow to fix things I have reported.

Our tour of Traditions

We toured Traditions Senior Living and Memory Care. The facility was dark and gloomy. The person doing the tour was adamant that my loved one would have to be in the Memory Care section without knowing anything or asking anything about my loved one.
