Exceptional, Personalized Care for Your Loved One

My dad and mom have been living at the Retreat since Oct. 2018. My father was suffering from an aggressive cancer, and in Jan. was placed in Hospice for 1 week (who came to the Retreat!) and passed. My mom continues to live here and suffers from dementia. Prior to coming to the Retreat, they resided in 2 other facilities, and the Retreat demonstrates, by far, the most genuinely compassionate, personalized, reliable and holistic set of services in an intimate environment. The staff continues to go over & above to understand the unique behaviors & interests of each resident and innovate creative ways to engage and excite each resident individually and in group activities. For example, one resident wanted to build a garden fountain...the staff hired their landscaper to work with a resident to build it and, today, it adorns the front entrance. Most important, is their intimate knowledge and day-to-day tracking of your loved one's changes in health. Not only do they have in-house physician and RX services, but the staff is well trained in identifying and mitigating the medical challenges our aging parents face on a daily basis. All the meals are home-cooked and residents can request their favorites. They build their grocery list off of resident needs and preferences. They even make resident favorite 'treats' at homes and bring them in... like home-made fudge. Enough of the examples....bottom line: having experienced 2 other facilities, the Retreat is over the top in personalized care-giving for your loved one.

Truly A Retreat

I cannot say enough good things about Endeavor North Scottsdale Retreat. We recently placed my 88 year old dad here after he struggled with living alone for over 3 years. We are so very pleased with the outcome of his move to this beautiful group home/retreat. It is unlike any other group home in the area because of its location, beautiful surroundings, lovely interior, gourmet meals, and wonderful staff and caregivers associated with Endeavor. He has his own beautifully appointed room with a large television and windows looking out over the desert landscape surrounding the house. The back patio is a great place for him to sit and enjoy the desert ambiance which he loves to do. The best thing about North Scottsdale Retreat is the people who work here. They are very caring, loving and attentive to my father. There are caregivers on duty 24/7 at North Scottsdale Retreat which was also very important as my dad is a wanderer. Plus it is secured and monitored. All of this was very important to us and we really feel we could not have made a better choice in a group home. This 'retreat' is very affordable with different price points available, and the quality of care provided for dollars spent is of very high value.

Your Loved Ones Will Be Safe Here!

I had to unexpectedly move my Mother from another Group Home and found myself in a very stressful situation. From the minute I entered Central Scottsdale Assisted Living I was at ease. The home is beautifully decorated and minimizes fall risk – no carpets and guard rails in bathrooms. The staff keeps the facility meticulously clean, and serves meals so that it is appetizing, & nutritious. Perhaps most important to me was that the staff treated my Mother with dignity and was extremely compassionate. When it was necessary to admit my Mother to Hospice, they always kept me informed of developments and were patient with my Mother. Alzheimer’s patient and those with aphasia from a stroke can be difficult and disruptive - I never heard or saw anyone raise their voice to my Mother. I often came unannounced and am very impressed with the way Diana [Removed] runs her business – she is professional and you will have peace of mind knowing your loved one is being cared for by Diana and her staff.

One Of My Top Choices

i had a great tour with this community. I liked the layout of how the kitchen and living room is close to each other. I was able to talk with the owner over the phone but did not get to meet and greet. My tour guide was s caretaker that lived on the community property. Everything seemed to going very well here.

The care my mom got over this past year was absolutely excellent, they went out of their way to watch her when she first arrived so they knew her pattern to see if things were going in the right direction. They did an excellent job. They have always kept us informed.

North Scottsdale Retreat is beautiful and all of the staff very attentive to the residents. Each and every caregiver is very caring and helpful to my mom as well as all of our family & friends that visit. As close to being “home” as possible, Could not have found a better place. Would recommend To others

I recommend Valencia for anyone that prefers an all women home. This feature makes me feel most comfortable. The benefit for this type of home in that it’s a smaller setting is the way they can accommodate and customize your stay better than other facilities. I happen to be a picky eater but I can always count on the caregivers to make me something I prefer and they now know my likes and dislikes so well I hardly Have to ask for the substitutions. This home has all levels of care and with my situation I want to do as much for myself as possible. The caregivers will help me but let me still live my life and do things for myself. That is important to me. The home is very clean and we all get to to know each other and the staff has been very good to me.

Friendly and Beautiful Care Home

I would tell others that the staff is phenomenal, loving, and caring. They are just as concerned about the families as they are for the residents. Due to health conditions we requested some restrictions and dietary changes. We ended up having to bring our own diabetic materials down for them to use. They are perfect for those who just needs an eye to watch out for them. They are lacking in the additional medical care needed.

I took a tour!

When I toured Central Scottsdale Assisted Living, the person that took us around was welcoming and informative. They were able to answer any questions about the home and give us good information. The facility was in good shape, but what we did not like was the fact that there was nothing set in writing as far as pricing. The price was different on their website as the price they actually told me when I arrived, I was shocked. Other than that, it was a god you but not what we were looking for.

Beautiful loving group home for individuals who are more independent.

We think they took on a little more with our loved one then what they had equipped and ready. He was diabetic and they didn't have the dietary restrictions they should of had. When we got there he was still walking in a walker, and within two days he was in a wheel chair and was wheel chaired bound the rest of the time. From a nursing stand point he went downhill so fast. It was a lovely and beautiful place, we just thought he could of used a little more care. The staff was so loving, and wonderful towards our family.

Somewhat affordable

Overall was good. It met the need to have care for my husband when my work required us to go back into the field and I couldn't take care of him any longer. 2 cleanliness was excellent. Staff was very friendly. I don't think they liked us stopping in unscheduled. I think they lacked on training. Quality of care (not getting him up to walk or do any movement exercises on a regular basis. He was there 3 weeks and stopped walking all together. Also I popped in to visit him he was lethargic and feverish and we had to call an ambulance. At the ER he was diagnosed with a severe UTI spent the night in the hospital, codex in the morning and they revived him but he died 4 days late. Meals were fine, not many activities, value was better than most I had looked into. I think they need training to know signs of illnesses. They need nurses who are licensed not just caregivers.

Grateful Overall

The gal that runs North Scottsdale Retreat is is great. We did have some issues with medication management. One night my dad was given another residents medication. Initially my dad was in what I would call a depressing room at the back of the community without a good window and when I brought it to their attention they very graciously moved him to the master suite at the front of the community with lots of space and windows at the same rate. It really made a big difference.
