Unenchanting

I was looking for a place to live and came across Golden Pond, which reminded me of that movie with [Removed]. Unfortunately, I was unenchanted by the food and how dark it was. Just touring it, I could tell it would be too depressing for me to live there.

Friendly Staff!!

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my mother and I was pleased with the presentation that we had received. The staff where kind and where patient with all of our questions. They had a spacious dinning room as well common area spaces. I thought they had a nice floor plan and a lot of great amenities for the residents it was just not the right fit in the end decision for her.

Food service not what it used to be ... and ...

Turnover in the kitchen has been pretty extreme past year or two, and the food and service have suffered as a result. Hopefully this will be fixed soon, but it's already been going on for a while. Hard to keep good people under those circumstances. Other than that, though, the junior-level staff is very helpful and friendly. Senior staff is a bit aloof, and they tend to check out well before 5 pm quitting time. A lot of insider-hiring, too. If your sister works there, you'll work there. If your mom works there, you'll get a job there too. That's the nature of small towns, and I it works okay here.

Our experience at Ramsey Village

The positives are he likes the location in terms of it being somewhat wooded. There area animals that come up such as deer, rabbits, squirrels. He likes all the big trees. The neighborhood is close to Drake University which does make traffic a bit heavy at times. He has a great apartment that is a good size. The biggest complaint he has had overall would be the temp control in the rooms, it is either too hot or too cold which is frustrating. Other than that he has been pretty satisfied with the experience.

Transitions are tuff

There are some staff that are really good and there are some that are sleep walking. This community works for the care that they are able to provide for my loved one. A lot depends on availability at the time that you are looking for care. Among the other communities this is probably one of the best that there are and it came with high recommendations. There is the potential for great care but my loved ones circumstances can make it somewhat difficult. My loved one was on her on for a long time and she is very strong willed so the transition has been trying.

Loved the courtyard and balcony! The 1 bedrooms are updated and are of a good size. This is in an older building in the city, [distance removed] from me. The cost is high. [Fee removed.] And you have to pay for your phone and power. [Fee removed] to drive Mom to Dr appointments in [location removed], wait for her and bring her back home. Seemed to be ok with Mom moving in next week after an assessment.

Not crazy about the location of the facility. The facility seemed kind of tired. Had that 'assisted living' feel. The apt however was awesome, big walk in closet, nicer bathroom area than Northglenn. The sink countertop area was larger. They too had only a window AC in bedroom. They did say that they take them out in the winter. Kitchen area was acceptable.

tour review

Our family had an in person tour with Ramsey Village and it was a negative tour experience. The manager told me the wrong pricing said it was [removed] a month for independent living. I asked her twice and she stood by it but you all said oh that's not correct. That was not accurate. And its was just old and nothing nice about it . The tour was very short and no questions answered

Mixed

My mothers lap blanket disappeared in two weeks here. The staff is slow. There are bugs in the apartments that are supposed to be sprayed someday. The place smells, the attention is minimal and the food is either wrong or minimal if you don't ask. Might as well be slummin.

This place seems a bit old and a little worn. All rooms are the same whether you are Independent Living or Assisted Living. If you transition from IL to AL, they will just remove your stove. The stove is not a full stove, but a half stove.

My husband did not stay long at this facility. He was sent to the ER twice. They can improve by keeping communication with the residents family and their members.
