They were very accommodating with the move-in. Any kind of minor issues we've had, we've been able to work through with them. The facility is nice and clean. The food is real good. And they have good activities.

A Great Place for People of Marble Falls

This seems like a nice place for your loved one. Most things go as the community said they would. The staff seem to handle any questions or concerns quickly that the family has. My loved one seems to be pretty please with the meals offered. There are a couple of choices for the residents to choose from for meals. Some of the activities available include exercise classes, trivia, entertainers, movies, and more for the residents to choose from. There is a kitchenette with a microwave, sink, and refrigerator in the unit. The community will do the laundry for my loved one and does the housekeeping as well.

A great place to live in a small community. Good option to remain independent.

I think because of the times, they're not able to do many activities due to Covid. But I'd say it's a good place to live. I definitely think it's one of the nicer places in Marble Falls. My dad likes the fact that he has a 2-bedroom place of his own and can still be independent and drive They bring him meals. He just has to call them in. Everything is all-inclusive, with one payment a month, which includes meals, housekeeping twice a month, rent, and electric.

My review of Arbor House

The communication of the community is not great. You have been the one who calls and they don't always act very happy that you've called. The room size is adequate or even generous sized. I would recommend this facility to others.

Great Tour!

The Arbor House of Waco was a very nice tour. The staff was very friendly and kind to us. They were able to provide the answers we were looking for. The community is well kept and looked inviting. We chose a different community based on location.

Social Environment

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my father and it was lovely. I liked that everyone was very involved in activities and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. The social environment was excellent and I was very impressed with that. Overall it was a great experience my dad just thought he was too old to make any kind of move at this point.

Friendly Staff!!

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to give lots of great information about everything they had to offer my loved one and I. It just seemed like more care then my mother would have needed.

Already Recommended this Community

We are pleased with my mother in law move to this community. So far everything is working out pretty well. She is doing good. They are taking good care of her, and her needs. The staff is good, and they have been helpful. The community is well-kept when we come to visit. They provide nice meals, and good activities for the residents. We have already recommended this community to our friends, it is a nice facility.

During our tour, my mother said she did not like the dining room, it was a major thing for her and there was nothing wrong with it, it just was not to her preference. The day before she was supposed to move in, the marketing director resigned. That was a bad sign to us.

We are good right now for my wife. Just need a little more attendion when she needs the helpers.

My wife overall is satisfied with the location. I want to share with you that [Removed] Pulling is very good, and [Removed] [Removed] is outstanding, and is a key player in your organization. I feel the only problems we have noticed our your helpers need more training, and some are better then others getting things done. Also, has you grow you will need more help in this area, right now they cannot handle all they have to co. I feel the fee is fine, and appreciate two name individuals mentioned above

ER Disaster

An incident happened where my grandmother fell and bumped her head which required a trip to the ER and for her to get stitches. My grandmother was taken to the ER and once she was discharged I was told that someone from Arbor House should have picked her up to take her back to the facility, instead they (ER) called another person listed on the call sheet that was provided to the ER who lives about 30-45 min away. This should have never happened!

Substandard care

I had to go check on my Father-in-law today after his home health nurse alerted me of the conditions she found him in yesterday. He was sitting in in wheelchair in a filthy shirt and only his underwear. Today I found feces in his wastebasket with blue exam gloves so I knew it had to be left that way by an employee. He's had 4 falls now a day the administrator's response is "we can't prevent falls." I have lost all trust that they will care for him with dignity and safety.

Feelings about Arbor House, Waco/

They lost Mom's lower dentures. They did not adjust diet to something soft she didn't need to chew. They did not cut up her food or do finger food. They did not assist her in the bathroom. She can't hold up her dress and doesn't remember to take down her attends. Just pees and poops in her attends unless supervised. Administration was not totally upfront with us and expected us to read all the contract totally by ourselves. I had two pair of scissors with round tips (bandage scissors) left for Mom to cut her paper. They gave her some cheap little scissors and somehow Alisa kept the bandage scissors but couldn't remember where she put them. Needless to say I never got the expensive scissors back. I felt like Mom needed more assistance but was not receiving it. They acted like she could do everything except bathe and dress herslef.

Experience at Arbor House - Waco

I will try this again as I was cut off. I think Mom received lousy care at this facility. Everyone acted like she could do self care. She was not given finger food as requested and then they lost her lower dentures. They made no changes to diet afterward, she was not given soft food requiring little chewing. They did not assist her to the bathroom, they said she goes by herself. She doesn't usually get her dress out of her way and forgets to pull down her attends. She doesn't remember to wash her hands. She is not independent at all.

Unhappy DIL

I had to go check on my Father-in-law today after his home health nurse alerted me of the conditions she found him in yesterday. He was sitting in in wheelchair in a filthy shirt and only his underwear. Today I found feces in his wastebasket with exam gloves so had to be left there by a staff member (pictures taken). He was sound asleep sitting in his wheelchair in the BATHROOM. He had wounds on his legs (finally healed with home health) from allowing him to sit in his wheelchair ALL day and not insisting he laydown and elevate them as per his doctors orders. Legs were swollen today so it won't be long before he'll develop more sores. Laundry hadn't been done this week because he was in isolation from Covid. What? I'm a nurse and we don't not do laundry because someone has a virus! He didn't have any clean washcloths or towels. I've lost trust that they will care for my Father-in-law and maintain his dignity and keep him safe. Find somewhere else if your loved one needs actual help.

Memory care

Facility was clean and staff were friendly. Problem is staff in memory care were always on their phones, not engaged in patient care. Very little activities actually done with patients. They mainly just sat them in a large room in front of tv. The staff are not trained to meet the medical needs of the patients. No diabetic patients should be at Southern Plaza. No staff on duty during evening or nights in the entire facility are allowed to check a blood sugar. (They have one nurse who works limited hours during the day who could check a blood sugar but she was always gone or busy when my dad would have an emergency). They do not have the proper certification. They have home health companies come in to do nurse checks. Multiple break downs in communication and medication errors with this approach. I had to remove my loved one due to so many incidents. I did not feel they were safe in memory care at this facility.
