I was recently a short-term patient at Alden-Long Grove. As I entered this facility, I was warmly welcomed and greeted by my name. I was taken to a private room with a television and private bathroom. Several key staff members, including the Housekeeping manager and the Director of Nursing, came to introduce themselves. The nurses and CNAs were extremely warm, friendly, sympathetic, proactive and attentive. I had Physical Therapy six days a week and Occupational Therapy five days a week. The therapists were too were warm, friendly, and sympathetic. They encouraged and motivated me to get stronger, and I credit much of my recuperation to their outstanding efforts. Every morning, the Activities staff distributed a list of the day’s events to which all patients were invited. Patients could take meals in the dining room or in their rooms. Nobody wants to be in a nursing home or rehabilitation facility. However, I would highly recommend Alden to anyone in need of such services!... Read more

My family member was treated poorly. As he was declining he was ignored and treated like he was an annoyance. He missed several Dr apps and was usually not clean and was wearing dirty clothes. His clothes went missing all the time and I had to bring new stuff when I visited. When he was sent to the hospital for erratic behavior I reached out to the director and social worker and was and still am ignored. My relative passed away and I still haven't heard from anyone. Please do NOT send your loved one there!

Overall it was good. They have full time care as well as rehab care and we did the rehab care. I think they did a good job. They have the rehab people separate so they get the specialized care they need. Their therapist type people were great! We really enjoyed that. They did a good job with care. I would recommend them if you had to do rehab. They were very helpful and went out of their way to include the family.
