Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the choice to live active lives while ensuring their care requirements have been fulfilled. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping responsibilities are handled while you are unrestricted to use your time as you desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent medical providers, they may always do so. There are an assortment of benefits and costs to balance when choosing an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in your plan: move-in fee, Waiting list deposit, field trips, housekeeping, wellness program, internet access, private phone, and parking. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include security guards, beauty salon & barber shop, laundry service, game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, concierge services, and golf course.
