Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the opportunity to continue to live an independent lifestyle while making sure their care requirements are met. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of for you while you are unencumbered to use your time as you prefer. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a variety of costs and advantages to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in the care plan: housekeeping, utilities, Waiting list deposit, laundry, initial assessment fee, cable TV, transportation, and move-in fee. The luxuries associated with independent living include laundry service, golf course, fitness center & swimming pool, transportation, concierge services, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, and security guards.
