Complete guide to independent living

Richmond, Indiana

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a nice harmony between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with housekeeping. Basic tasks such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they wish, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of private medical professionalls, they may always do so. There are a variety of costs and benefits to consider while selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in the plan: meals, field trips, parking, transportation, internet access, Waiting list deposit, move-in fee, and housekeeping. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include security guards, private rental hall, golf course, community activities, game/TV room, concierge services, transportation, and restaurant-style dining hall.
