Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the choice to continue to live their active lives while assuring their care requirements are fulfilled. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of for you while you are able to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between locations, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a number of benefits and expenses to balance while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in the care plan: private phone, laundry, initial assessment fee, housekeeping, utilities, cable TV, transportation, and parking. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include security guards, laundry service, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, concierge services, beauty salon & barber shop, community activities, and golf course.
