I was not familiar with Woodlea until I visited a friend of my Sister and I was quite impressed. I did however request information for myself and the woman [Name removed], Mgr ? was rather rude and abrupt . She flatly cut me off with telling me the list was almost filled and they were closing out the waiting list. Disappointed in her manner! The place itself looked comfortable and the few residents I met were very friendly.... Read more

Nice low income housing

Woodlea is HUD senior independent housing, thus the rent is 30% of adjusted income plus electric, which is all utilities. It is a 6 floor building with 100 one bedroom 500 sq. ft. apartments. It is located in Pikes Creek; a nice area outside of the city. The building is well managed and clean. Two meals are available daily at a very reasonable cost but all other personal services come from private arrangements and are not provided in-house. There is a wait list that seems to run about ten to twelve months.
