In a nutshell, Vernon Springs rates very high for me. It is a smaller, private family run facility. Immaculately clean, newly renovated, fabulous location, wonderful caring caregivers, reasonably priced, friendly, accessible, nice rooms with a memory care floor for patients needing to transition to more constant care. It is family to me. I get hugs from the staff when I go down the hall to meet my mother. All the resident know one another and get along beautifully. It was such a blessing to discover this jewel. My mother loves living there and that is most important to me.... Read more

This community has some positives as it is not too big. All the staff seem very nice and my sister is able to get around but needs a walker. She is able to manage but a lot of the other residents need more care. Depending on what you loved one needs this may or may not be the right place. This is a nice looking facility and the staff are friendly they just need more staff. They also need better management.

Facility recently bought and going through major renovations. We were on time but assigned tour person(owner) was not there and no one was in any office. Someone doing an interview in the lobby did ask what we needed and ended up giving us a tour of the facilities when she was done with the interview. Small brochure given that advertised a full kitchen was not correct as all stove/ovens taken out and not allowed anymore. This facility might be good for some people but definitely not us. It was more like a nursing home atmosphere trying to be an upscale residence that would attract independent living people. Parking limited and not close to the front door. No valet service. Over priced 300 sf studio $3500/mnth, 650 sf 2 bedroom $4500 month, no covered parking, dining room assigned tables that looked very institutional in setting and location in building. Even when renovations finished it will not attract independent people at that price. Others offer much more for same price.

This is a phenomenal place. We are so happy that we were contacted by the owners when we placed the need through A Place For Mom. We have not been disappointed by anything here. The staff is fantastic, the food is delicious and my mom, who can be a little difficult at time, is treated with the greatest of love and care. We are very satisfied with Vernon Springs in every way.

Recently purchased by a family, so it has a nurturing feel. They are in the process of major renovations. The renovated rooms are bright and airy. I didn't see too many of the staff when I was there.

I loved the building and the fact that there are only 65 beds. The location is great for us. [Name removed] is warm and caring. All the employees that I met were friendly (and helpful when I got lost trying to get in). It is extremely clean and there are alot of planned activities. Hair dressing on premises with a dedicated salon. The rooms are airy and light. I enjoyed my tour.

I am caring for an elder relative with a pretty rapid decline in cognitive ability. Dementia . 1 year ago I was referred by another residents family and found this pleasant oasis in Sandy Springs. I do not know what I would have done without their assistance and kind care of my Aunt. Their knowledge of the aging process and care of the elderly allows a smooth transition for the resident and family members. It is small enough the she and I rapidly felt at home and part of the community. They continue to be caring to this day. We recently moved to the memory care unit in the same building with the same staff. I was dreading this move but if anything I like it better. The staff really knows how to care for these lovely people who struggle to communicate. Yes, caring for aging adults is not easy. The challenges of hygiene and daily routine are huge. Insignia handles all of this as well as it can be done. I am so glad we found them.

I am looking for a dedicated assisted living bed and the level of care at this facility is not what I wanted. The appointment was set up for me by the web site. When I did call to cancel the receptionist was polite but at 2 pm in the afternoon on a Tuesday was unable to locate anyone that help help me. So they seemed disorganized in this particular area. But I did not actually tour.

We got to go on a tour here and we thought that the community was very nice. The staff was very helpful and nice when asked our questions. The community was clean and neat as well. It was just to far from us.

[Removed] called me and they no longer have Daycare available...but do have respite, overnight care. Can't really rate, as I did not visit in person.

Jennifer was SO nice and really made our visit very personal. It is small, and we are interested in more space than we have currently. My only other real concern is the lack of lighting throughout. Hopefully it's just a matter of changing several lightbulbs.

My experience with Insignia of Sandy Springs has not been the best. One of the main problems is that their aide staff seems short staffed and overworked, and the care and cleanliness suffers for it. They really don't seem to have enough people on hand to really care for their memory care residents. One of the main places I notice this is that when I visit (which is often) I can tell my loved one is not taken to the restroom nearly often enough because his diaper is almost always in need of a change. The aides also seem indifferent towards the comfort of the residents. The TV often seems to be set on a channel the staff wants to watch instead of what the residents enjoy, and when I visit the TV room is usually freezing until I ask them to turn the AC down. They also really need to work on the food. The quality of the cuts of meat they choose always seems low, and they really are not very accommodating to their diabetic residents. I've had to really stay on top of my loved one's blood sugar levels. One thing I will say is that their physical therapy service is excellent. They've helped him even beyond the rehab care facility he was in previously, and they've even got him up and walking around on his own for short periods of time.

Once there it was fine, we had a bad experience. After wife was there, but once after she was hospitalized, the community denied to take her back because she was not mobile enough. I feel they lied to us, my wife is now in hospice.

Everything is good. My only concern has been when we drop her off a little early for the day program, and the doors are still locked. It's clean and the staff is friendly. We are pretty happy with them.

Very convenient and nice inside. Many residents are Jewish and my mother is a Christian, so I think she would have trouble fitting in.
