This is the place for my mom!
The faculty and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is always someone around to keep an eye on the residents at all hours. This was one of the priorities for me, and University Village was exemplary in this area. The moving process for my mother was simple. There is a fellow there who assembled all of the furniture that we sent for my mother. All we had to do was make her bed, do a little decorating, and she was ready to just walk in and make herself at home. All areas are kept clean and neat. Special attention is given to make sure there is nothing around that anyone could hurt themselves on or trip over. I have not eaten at the facility but have seen the meals. They look and smell delicious. They are always nutritionally balanced as well. My mother loves the food. Medical help is always available. There are buttons and pull cords in the bedrooms and bathroom. There are also activities planned all day that the residents can participate in if they want to. But if they'd rather not, that's fine too. The thing I really like the most is the feedback that I get from other families and the residents themselves. They all love University Village. When I heard that, I knew it was the right place for Mom. I would highly recommend University Village to others!

Attention to Detail
The staff at University Village is very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping is great. Everyone is very attentive to the needs of the residents and communicates well with their families. The staff and residents all seem happy to be there. They have good safety measures in place. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

Would highly recommend
Every thing rates a 5 except activities. There are few organized activities. The ones they have are not creative. A lot of the residents sit around. Need more group activities actively involving the residents. And more fun stimulating activities. They actively help with health care. Found us a new neurologist and provided transportation. Have great physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy available. They all keep each other informed. Nurse practitioner keeps track of residents health needs and is actively involved. Staff is actively involved with helping improve quality of life offering suggestion's. Care takers sometimes need to be reminded a few times if a brand new change. Food is good and they make efforts to encourage eating. They take into consideration likes and dislikes when trying to encourage eating when a resident was not eating .

A great place for your loved one
I would fully recommend University Village. The staff knows about their residents, and if they have any recommendations or anything, they let you know. It's all been really good. We 've been very pleased with it. Before the virus, the food was always good. I've not had the chance to sample it since then. During the virus, they did Facetime so we could keep up with our loved ones. It's been very difficult to get in to see them, so they've started patio visits that have really helped us immensely.

A wonderful place!
Our loved one is doing 100% better, the owner does everything there she is just amazing. She is hands on with the residents, and facetime's us all the time after she gets done chatting with our loved one. We could not be more happy with the care gives, he is getting his medication on a regular bases, and he has had no falls. They are always giving him sometimes to eat or drink, helping him walk. They are just so wonderful. He always looks clean when we are able to visit. He is always in clean clothes and has his hair cut. They are just wonderful, they even have hospice on site. They have two ways to lift someone out of bed and help them with everything.

Highly recommend
The director as well as the caregivers stayed overnight for 3 days straight here during the snowstorm to make sure they had enough coverage and they were even taking people home since they had 4 wheel drive. They have been amazing and have gone above and beyond. They have been good with communication, I text back and forth with them all the time. We are very happy with University Village, my mom is now in the memory care unit and they have gotten both COVID vaccines. I would highly recommend them to others looking.

The very best place for my mother
I cannot say enough good things about University Village. We had an EXCELLENT experience here. Everything they should have done, they did it beautifully. They were so on top of things and always went the extra mile with their care. The administrator is the bomb. They were very accommodating, if she wanted bacon for every meal, they cooked her bacon for every single meal. They would always send me pictures and all residents were clean and looked very made up. They also let me face time her whenever we wanted. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend them to others who are looking.

They actually practice the word CARE.
I want to publicly commend University Village Memory Care for the excellent care for nearly 9 years for my brother [name removed]. From all the parts of my brother’s care over those years he had beyond above average care from all the loving folks that have worked there over the years. I don't know how they find their employees but whatever method they use is has to be very thorough to have such great staff. I have visited many care facilities over the years and never have I seen such loving and caring folks all in one place. With many folks with mental and physical afflictions of all sorts they handle it well. The atmosphere in the place in my opinion is uplifting to a patient in their conditions. I always felt at home with all that worked there! They love to see family involved with the persons they care for. Of course with humans there can be a problem crop up but if that ever happens they are quick to act, they listen to family concerns, and the patient is at their upmost importance. I doubt that there is another facility like this on in the area. I'm saying you will have to look long and hard to find any better facility to care for you loved one!!! My brother was buried today from complications of Alzheimer's which had suffer may years with along with a stroke that disabled him at the early stages of Alzheimer. I thank everyone at this facility for the excellent care and love you bestowed on my brother and my family members.

A good choice
Everybody and the community was very friendly and they truly cared about my mom. We had numerous meetings about my mom's care. The only thing they feel short on was at the very of her life when they didn't respond to her health emergencies as i wish they had. I chose this community because when I toured the staff seemed friendly and genuine and the the size of the community was just right for her. Overall, I was very happy with the care. I was happy with my decision of moving her there. Even after she passed away, they helped and supported me in cleaning out her room.

Great facility for my Mom with dementia and low mobility
My Mom has been a resident about three months now and I am pleased! Since my Mom has dementia and very low mobility this facility is great. It is very difficult to decide where to place someone you love so much, but after caring for her and my Dad for over twelve years it was time to get some full time care. Thank you University Village and all your wonderful staff for loving and caring for her so well!

Wonderful care for your loved one
[name removed] and all of the staff at University Village are incredible. We are so grateful we had our Mom there, and even more grateful for the care provided. The facility is small, so the ratio of staff to residents is really good. [name removed] focuses on her staff and does everything she can to keep them happy working there. Many have been there for years. Also, you get to know the caregivers well. She has two resident care managers, that are always available, and extremely responsive to any questions or updates. They are happy to communicate by text, email or phone. The facility has alot of natural light and open areas. The kitchen is like one in a lovely home. They even have a labradoodle named Sophie that lives there and visits every so often. I highly recommend University Village Memory Care and Assisted Living for your loved one.

Hello , my name is Terra Jones and I am the Administrator at University Village .I am sorry you were unable to meet with someone. I am not sure when you came, or who you were scheduled to meet. If you had a tour scheduled , it would have only been scheduled with me. We do not keep brochures available at the front but I am always available to share information and help with resources for our potential families needs. We are a secured community because we also offer a safe environment for our residents with Dementia & Alzheimer's . I am always available if you would like to reach out again. Kind Regards,

A Place for Mom has scored University Village 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
