They could take him right then and we didn't have to wait. He's now in their long term facility and the facility's wonderful, no problems other than just normal everyday problems when you get old I guess. He sits at the nurses desk a lot in his wheelchair because he can't be left alone, th

Unsatisfactory
My mother is in this facility only because we thought we could keep an eye on her being close to our residence. Come to find out we didn’t have enough eyes to keep this place from being sold inconsiderate, understaffed, unsanitary, dishonest and a lot of other things that I could say none of them a very professional. I’ve never seen it anything like this. And they know that you would not put your loved ones here if there was something else you could do. So they feel that you have no choice about the matter and you just have to take what’s going on. One day someone is going to find exactly what’s being hidden and that’s a lot. Most of these people have no conscience. The ones that has a conscience don’t work there very long. Tuscony Village is awful if you need care. I believe if you go there and not have to have the care of those people then you can get along just fine

Negligant
I sent my survey from last winter because my mother who was there just passed of Covid 4 months ago on hospice in Concordia. She was at Tuscany last December. I am a RN. I know how difficult and short staffed places were during the huge surge. However, there comes a point when absolute neglect is inexcusable...because her call light didn't work...nor was ever fixed in all the time she was there during her quarantine. I understand why there were/are lawsuits. Baptist Village and ultimately Concordia (when she was on hospice ) helped so much. I had no choice where to send her first last fall...and that choice was a nightmare. Nov 18th....I gave my information you requested a month ago, no response other than someone will contact me. Jan 11th. The owner responds to a positive review, but no call or email still to me. Again...I am a nurse. I have been extremely patient, but don't ask for my information MONTHS ago and not respond. My mother who is now gone deserves a voice.

My mother there last fall
My mother was there last winter with Covid. [name removed]. She died of it in May this year while on hospice at Concordia. I am her daughter [name removed]. I am a RN. I understand more than anyone the pressures covid has placed on healthcare. But her call light not working in the covid unit where she was already so isolated was inexcusable. I called daily. I asked daily to check on her and ask the that to be fixed. She had a bowel movement in the night which tore her rectum. She also had the beginnings of a bed sore. She was placed with you shortly after the lawsuit came to light. I was reassured over and over issues were fixed..and ultimately I had no other choice but you. I removed her and placed her in [facility name removed] as soon as she was out of quarantine. I can't say enough praise about [facility name removed] and Concordia. And yes....she was there during covid spike and off and on quarantine. Your terrible reputation preceded you and unfortunately as a very patient nurse...you failed.

Don’t admit your love ones into Tuscany Village Nursing Center it’t’s a horrible place
Please don’t place your love ones in this horrible facility. My husband was in the long term division to rehab his legs, and as his condition worsened the facility did not meet my husband’s basic needs. He would have to wait an hour or more to be taken off his bed pan. When they felt it was too much to put him on his bed pan, they would put him in an adult diaper and he would sit in his own excrement. There was excrement on the floor and used plastic gloves that were thrown on his floor in his room, and they would leave in bed for days until he developed a bed sore. The last straw was when he told the nurse he was unable to breath and she did nothing. Finally, he told her to call the ER and it took her over an hour to call. When the ambulances arrived, there was no one to meet him, so the driver had to search for my husband. Please if you value your love ones don’t admit them to this horrible place. Upon discharge they characterized my husband as belligerent and hostile to justify their actions.

They could take him right then and we didn't have to wait. He's now in their long term facility and the facility's wonderful, no problems other than just normal everyday problems when you get old I guess. He sits at the nurses desk a lot in his wheelchair because he can't be left alone, they're the ones that mentioned getting him a lap buddy and also the ones who suggested having him by the nurses station so they could keep an eye on him. I think they're pretty good and I don't think that they're much more expensive than everyone else but it is a very nice facility. I think it's the place that he needs to be because they know what's going on with him and they're trying, they're doing their best and he seems to love the nurses.

Frequently Asked Questions
about Tuscany Village Nursing Center

A Place for Mom has scored Tuscany Village Nursing Center 2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
