Poor management. High staff turnover. Unable to properly staff. Ask why there are 25 vacant units. There is new entrance and dining area but the halls are dark, with stained carpets & dry wall buckets for roof leaks. Unit carpet is worn out and cheap. Don’t do laundry weekly. Washers & dryers are old and dirty. Mice and ants are rampant. Carports are collapsing with gutters hanging, full of bird nests and poo. Elevators don’t work. The food is bland, not fresh, cold, overcooked, like rubber. Village Care doctor, Nurse Director and assistant are constantly leaving. Meds aren’t given on time and lost. Staff doesn’t respond to call buttons or answer phone. On the weekends & evenings no management is around; it’s obvious there’s nobody in charge. During covid management & staff didn’t wear masks yet required it of visitors. The staff were often exposed residents to COVID. We tried to get these issues addressed by the Director, but were repeatedly lied to and given excuses.
I have worked at HH for almost 32 years. It is my home away from home and my co workers and residents are family. I can’t imagine ever working any place else.

I was happy with it, glad I put my Mom there. She is happy to be there, except with the food. I think they have their challenges with staffing issues due to covid. They are doing the best that they absolute can.
The Village at of Heather Hills is fabulous. The 1 on 1 care that they provided is something that really stuck out to us. [name removed] the intake director was absolutely incredible. The experience was wonderful and we would highly recommend them to others looking, It was the best decision I could have made for her.
It's a verycooperative community. THe people are always happy. I don't hear complaining from the other residents even wehn there are little changes. We're shortstaffed right now. They're very good, working very hard and extremely freindly. but they're being overworked because they can't hire anybody. The food is great. There's a good variety and good quality with a proper portion size. You get two choices for each meal every day, and it's very delicious. My only complaint is they put salt in their food, and I believe that a facility like this with primarily older people could probably curtail some of the salt. They have a lot of activiites, so much going on all the time. People are enthusiastic with teh activities. And that stands out compared to other places we've visited. IT's a very well run organization, if a little expensive. Other places had a large entrance fee, but the entrance fee here is reasonable. And htey completely redo your rooms before you move in. THey have private covered parking spots avaialble. I would definietly recommend coming here if you can afford it.
The friendliness of the staff members would be six stars out of five. Our loved one thinks the food is wonderful, and the have been back and forth with the activities. She does enjoys what they have, and they do have a great line up of things to do. We feel that the value for cost is very good. This was our first choice.
I lived at Heather Hills for 1 year. The residents were wonderful! Most of the staff was very kind and excellent with all of the residents. However, there were several that were evil, mean and cruel> It was in every area. They were in the office staff, servers ,health care and even administration. These people would often lie to the residents. They would document that they gave a medication, took a temperature, record that a resident refused a shower. One night when I first got there the toilet in my room was not working. I was told I would have to walk downstairs to use a restroom or wear an adult diaper. They did not have a plunger. I was recovering from a stroke. I was humiliated. I was new and scared. Another time I was told they did a temperature check. They did not. I was told that I must have forgot. It is scary what they do and get away with. Many residents are not able to speak for themselves, Their families and caregivers do not see the true picture. It is a SHAME!!!
The community is very spacious and pretty. There are a lot of activities going on and the rooms are very large. The communication between the staff and our family is good and they keep us updated and well informed. I would recommend this community to others
They are very friendly and accommodating. The community is very caring and I feel they did well for my loved one. I would absolutely recommend this community to others.
All in all, I would say that Heather Hills is/has been a good (not excellent) place for the following reasons: Village care tries to be attentive, however, the turnover has been a lot. Last month there were 5 new hires. For being a facility for independent living, there are more and more residents that need a lot of care and assistance, thus making them busier. Weekend coverage is very lackadaisical; definitely a slim crew working and not always someone at the front desk. No one seems to be in charge. Not enough coverage or servers. During the whole pandemic, there has been no communication to the families as to what is going on and for being done. It is left to the 90+ age residents to remember what their restriction are and passing it on to families. Fortunately, Heather Hills had been "virus free" until this past Monday where there was someone (apparently who would come to Heather Hills on an on need basis) was tested positive. I (as well as the rest of my siblings) have been upset with the fact that we can see employees as well as the high school boys and girls (servers) coming in without masks and walking around Heather Hills interacting with residents. These individuals are just as susceptible to bringing the virus into Heather Hills and the residents (as the case may be right now with someone testing positive.) The residents, employees and helpers aren't required to wear masks, yet family members must. Where's the logic?!? Comments for my loved ones: The food is dreadful; bland. When pork chops are served they are tough and the butter knife doesn't cut it. Heather Hills put all this money into the outer appearance, yet the one section of the building (North?) the carpet is old and stained. Very dated pictures and some door frames and walls are dented and have holes. (Who wants to look at that?) Meals are being brought up to the apartments but the times are never consistent. Security at the doors use to be a HUGE issue, but with the renovations it has gotten better. Yes, these issues have been brought up at one time or another with Heather Hills personnel but not always rectified.
Love the staff! The residents are very friendly and the facility is very nice.

I like living at this community. It is a nice place for me. My family lives close to me and that helps. My daughter also lives here so I feel better staying close to her.
It's been excellent. We have been very happy with them. There have been no complaints about food or activities, or anything else. I would give them a five.
Overall we are very, very happy. My parents are happy with it. They love the food and activities. They have helped with any issues that have come up. They have been very responsive to any requests or accommodations. I would rate them between a four and five. We have been very happy with it.
Caring, safe & dignified environment, dedicated staff - this has been & continues to be a wonderful place for my Mom.
The staff is very happy. The residents are very happy. You can see when they are walking, smiling and the grounds are very beautiful, flowers and green. It's just very nice. The food is very good too. I have meals there with my mother. They are very attentive. They bring the food and they have a menu that the residents can choose from what they want to eat. It's just very nice. I highly recommend it!
The property seems really nice. My mother has her own room. It's been painted, and carpeted, and you can do other decorations. The hallways always seem clean. I think they're relatively inexpensive for as much as they do. There are some things that I wish were a little bit better, but that's inherent in all of them. They have bingo, sometimes they bring in music. They decorate with holiday decorations. They do their best, I think it's pretty nice, actually. If my mom doesn't show up for dinner, they call to ask if she is alright. This takes a big load off of our minds. It is an independent living situation. She has a bedroom and living room, no kitchen.
