Found a safe place that makes life better
We have had a great experience with the cottages. [name removed] was very helpful about making arrangements for my mother in law who was not safe at home alone. The staff has been helpful and calls us with all needs for her. We are pleased with her care as they meet her needs and treat her kindly.

A PLACE OF COMPASSIONATE CARE
We needed a place for Dad. He has mobility issues as well as sundowning at night. They have been wonderful in taking care of him. Any concerns we have had, they have listened and addressed. The staff is approachable and caring. We are pleased with the care he is receiving.

The staff, activities, meals and care services are great. The value for cost is very good, also. Overall, we are happy with our choice and I would recommend The Cottages at Clear Lake to others!

wonderful staff work there
My dad was only there less than a month before he died. But in that time, the people there were understanding, accommodating, and supported my dad and us as best they could. The amount they charge for such compassionate care is significantly less than other facilities that aren't as nice (such as[ community name removed]). Plus, the building was nice and they had a great design and philosophy there. We regret that we did not start at Cottages to begin with as opposed to the first facility we tried. Oh, and they also were much more skilled at handling my dad's diabetes and doing his insulin injections than the other place we had him.

This facility is great. I've never been in a facility that is as "homey" feeling with sofas, recliners and a calm atmosphere- it's very open and bright. There is ALWAYS someone around to answer questions or bring you up to date on your loved one. I've always gotten a call reminding me of special events coming up. Communication with the family is good. Everyone seems to know all the residents and always call them by name. I've had nothing but good experiences at The Cottages at Clear Lake. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

What we really like about this community is the kindness and excellent communication. AN area we think they could improve on is their end dementia. However, if given the chance we would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Great for memory care
The Cottages at Clear Lake specializes in Alzheimer's care. My mother was in a facility before where memory care was the 3rd section (they had independent living, assisted living and memory care) and it was fine, but she has improved tremendously with it just focusing on the Alzheimer's care. I feel that they have more activities geared towards the residents and they are able to keep them more engaged. I would definitely recommend to others looking for memory care for their loved ones.

Knowing you have no fear of your loved ones care
My husband was at another facility that treated him terribly and they treat him like a king here. He is always clean, shaven, hair combed, freshly dressed, etc. every time I drop in to see him. If you put your family member here, you do not have to worry about them when they are at The Cottages. You will always be informed and updated on what is going on. They still have pretty strong covid restrictions, but it is understandable. I get many pictures from the staff to keep me involved. They absolutely love him. I already recommended them to a friend and her husband is here as well. They are able to handle all stages of dementia and they handle it well - they are just awesome and very involved with the residents. My husband is very happy and we could not be happier. They treat the residents with so much dignity and respect. There are no restrictions for the residents, they are able to walk around and do whatever they would like to do - that freedom is huge for memory care residents. The facility looks like a fancy house and it is very home like. Each wing gets to eat together family style which is nice because it gives them a sense of belonging.

The community is open to feedback and will try and resolve any issues. I would like to more staff on hand in the community. The community is very neat and clean and the staff are very friendly. Very pleased
It is small, privately homed comfortable facility. It is a very structured place which has been nice so she is not in her room all day, they always keep them busy doing things. They have family styled dining where everyone sits at a long table. They have 2 community dogs that are in each of the buildings, they have 2 separate buildings based on level of care. They give the residents options for food and drinks and they are attentive in making sure they stay hydrated. Any time I have called I get an answer and if I don't get anyone on the phone they return my calls quickly. They also take pictures of my mom and send them to us to show what she is up to. We have been very pleased with them.

Currently second. Love the dining arrangement and it feels like home. Wonder about the other building, where the patients who are further along are housed, though. Would need to learn more about that before we would settle on this facility.

Excellent Home for Those Needing Memory Care
This is a well organized, clean, friendly and supportive facility. We moved my uncle here when it was no longer safe for him to live independently. There are plenty of activities to keep him active, engaged and safe within the facility. The Cottages at Clear Lake is specifically focused on caring for those with memory issues.
We visit often at many different times of the day and have always found every staff member regardless of who they are helping, to be patient, kind and supportive. Additionally, my uncle’s room, his clothes and he personally, are always clean. The food and snacks which are cooked on site are tasty and nutritious. We have also used their large, separate family room to celebrate his birthday with him.
The Cottages has a broad variety of activities including: exercise, music, games, crafts, visiting musicians and therapy pets. One of the other many good things they do which really helps keep the folks hydrated is serve water throughout the day with meals, snacks and any meds. They also administer any meds so they are taken properly and at the correct time.
We have peace of mind that he is safe, cared for and well supported.

Since moving my Mother from Orchard Park to The Cottages....she has improved immensely. She loves the food. She is more engaged with the activities that go on all day. The staff is superb.

They have a lot of security features
I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Mother. One of the things I really liked about this facility is that the residents would sit around this large table for meals and they would pass the food around the table. The facility also had a lot of security features. All of the rooms have cameras so the staff knows when someone has fallen in the room and all of the residents have a necklace as well to alert the staff. The other thing I liked is that they had a sensor on the door to tell the staff when they’ve left their room for the day. I would recommend this facility to other families.
